There are 6,500 people buried in rubble and literally an army of people looking for them right now and we are worshipping somebody who was a decent singer and died 20 years ago.

Phil Hartman was more talented than he was (And you will NEVER find a bigger Hartman fan than me,) and if Phil ever gets his own tribute in which people mimic his best bits, I will know TV has bottomed out.

Even if I was a fan of John Lennon, would I want to hear people mangle his songs 20 years after he died?

Do I respect and admire John Lennon as a singer, songwriter, and overall musician? Absolutely. As a politician? Not at all. Then again, I bet George W. Bush couldn't carry a tune in a gunny sack.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that being a fan of one aspect of a person's life does not entail total devotion to all of their doctrines and beliefs.

I'd be willing to bet that you and I could have a great time hanging out together, NYD80, even though I think arena football stinks. Do you love everything your family and friends do and believe? I didn't think so.
