Alonzo Mourning...the same Alonzo Mourning who missed all of the 2002 season, couldnt play more than a week last season because of a kidney condition, got into a fight with Kenyon Martin about it, said hes retiring, and has now come back this season to play a total of 40 minutes in 2 games...has actually worked up the nerve to demand to have his contract bought out (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1917166) so that he can go play for a contender...maybe its just me...I dunno...

I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about.
I'm with Alonzo, and I'm a Nets fan. Usually I hate when players try to get out of contracts, but he has a point. Transplants are very unpredictable; he could live 20 more years, or go into complete rejection tomorrow. Short of that, he doesn't know how long he can continue playing. This is one of those scenarios where I sympathize.
And I hope you don't blame Mourning for that fight with Martin. Mourning was having a hard time practicing because of his illness, and Martin and Jefferson mocked him for it. I lost a ton of respect for those two.
Besides, this ownership group has done absolutely NOTHING to deserve even the slightest bit of loyalty from the players.
