I think John Kerry is a very decent man. I wouldn't have had a fit or felt that the sky is falling or that "we're doomed" if he had won. I think he has always dreamed of being president and perhaps in four years he'll give it another run. I think from what I've seen of him over the past two years and from various interviews that he is a well educated, well spoken man and a good father.

I do have criticisms of him though I will not bring them up here.

That plus he was once on Cheers!

He's a nobody now, and a zero when it comes to current American politics. Does anyone give a damn about humps like McGovern or Dukakis at this point? Of course not.

Actually right before the election I saw a list on a message board of 'prominent' democrats and republicans and their military service, and it had McGovern on it. It made me laugh that they had to dig that deep to provide a deceptive list that showed democrats with all the military service, and almost no republicans with any (the list did have McCain, but to omit him would cause even the most dim person to realize the list was skewed).
