We have reservations to go this Saturday night.
What I would like to know is;
Is the food any good?
Do you have any recomendations for a specific dish?
Any thing I should avoid?
Any amusing anecdotes?
Thanks!

Just went to Mortons (the one on Northern Blvd in LI) last Saturday night.
The food is very good, and avg prices for an upscale steak restaurant. I really like the bacon wrapped scallops (3) for an appetizer.
Depending on how many people you are going with, the side dishes can each be shared by 2 people. If it is only 2 of you, do not order more then 2 sides.
Get there about 10 minutes early - and prepare to wait for a little bit, grab a drink at the bar. I also got free desserts because the owner felt the food took too long to come out and apologized to us (approx 25-30 minutes btw app and main dish, which was fine by us and we didnt say a word).

Mortons rocks!
But bring lots of cash, if you do some drinking, you will need it. My buddy took us out (2 couples), and we had about 4 drinks each, two apps, a few sides, and four steaks, the bill was around 3-fitty.
I shucked it, and I shucked it, and I shucked it, i'm quite the mother shucker

I have been to all the big steak houses. I was recently at Mortons in Scottsdale, AZ.
I found it to be over priced for the quality of steak I got. It was a good steak, but I do nto think it was a 45 dollar steak. I prefer Ruth Chris to Mortons.
The Raw Oyster App is delicious and so is the Carpaccio.
I had a Port House which was cooked to perfection, but lacked something. It was just not as flavorfull as I would have liked.
I am goign to try Mortons again within the year, this time in NYC or NJ.

it is the most expensive of the steak houses. this is what everyone told me before I went there. with 1 app and 2 steaks and 1 coffe the bill was 145 (tip incluided).

Top of the pyramid!
And of course you can not compare Mortons, Ruths Chris, Smith and Walenski, etc..... to sizzler.

You should go to TAD's. They have steak, and pie too!
