A children's pantomime of Aladdin ended with the character of Osama bin Laden belting out a rendition of Frank Sinatra's New York, New York.

A Mt Eden parent who took his two pre-schoolers to the play at the Logan Campbell Centre on Saturday said he was appalled when "bin Laden" appeared at the end of the play - just as the wicked uncle Jasar was transported back to the cave by the genie. Later the character signed books with "Love Osama".

Mr Coddington was surprised at the complaint and said the Sinatra song was not intended to have any relevance to September 11.

It's pretty funny to me that they are trying to act as if it's insane to think that this Osama character singing "New York New York" isn't relevant to New York.

of all the songs in the world, why that one if there's no connection to 9-11. what does "New York New York" have to do with alladin in the first place?

Seriously, can we get their phone number and ask them what the fuck the whole point is? I know someone here will do the work, but I'm tired (lazy).
