Much like its population, Boston's baseball team is also reliant on alcohol. (http://msn.foxsports.com/story/3128120)

Call me a sour Yankee fan, but it's just more proof that the 2004 Red Sox are the reincarnate of the 1986 Miracle Mets. A bunch of scrappy oddball rejects. When it comes to the storied history of the Red Sox, this team really sets an example for the kids. It's all about hard work, sportsmanship, teamwork, and boozin' it up before games!

Way to bring some pride to Major League Baseball.

Yeah, not good role models like Daryl Starwberry, Dwight Gooden, Luis Polonia or Steve Howe.

You're a sour Yankee fan.

I don't think doing two two! shots of Jack is the equivalent of snorting coke.

By the way, the Yankees will be the guests at Boston's home opener at which they get to hoist up their WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY.

Because David Wells never pitched hungover.

You guys are so bitter about losing this year it's unbelievable.

Yeah, not good role models like Daryl Starwberry, Dwight Gooden, Luis Polonia or Steve Howe.
Those guys all took care of their drug problems before coming to the Yankees, and when Darryl fell back into it, he was off the team.
BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT. Any sort of substance abuse on the Yankees, or any other team for that matter, wasn't proudly made public. Millar went on a national TV show and flaunted it like it was a good thing.

It was never a TEAM RITUAL.

Wells is one guy, who never had good relations with the Yankee organization for that matter.

The Red Sox are 20+ unshaven wannabe rebels.

yeah millar probably talked too much and the team might have drank and they're DEFINITELY not rolemodels...they .still beat the yankees ass anyway you look at it.
I'd rather have a team known as partiers rather than a team known as the greatest collapse in history.

Just one or two more championships for the Red Sox and you'll start to hear "Red Sox suck" at Giants and Jets games.

More of a reason why I am a fan and love this team.* More of the look of the common blue collar American. Yeah sure, none of us are perfect and it probably wasn't the best choice of Kevin to mention the shots but come on already.

*That and the fact that for the last few years there has been an uncanny resemblance to the All-Time Scumbag 1993 Phillies.

EDIT: Bravo to the class of the Yanks (Giambi, Jeter and as Johnny Damn said it Mr. Torre) for calling and congratulating the Red Sox. At least thats what Johnny Damon said on Letterman.

Hawk seriously, and this is comming from a die hard Yankee fan here, give it up. Who the fuck cares if they took shots? More power to them. It's really not a big deal, relax.........go take some shots.

I'm not bothered by the shots thing..........however, former Red Sock John Burkett was on Chris Russo's saturday morning solo show a few days ago and said, and this is an exact quote, "to get guys psyched, Johnny Damon would do naked pull-ups." Ewwwwwwwwww, you can accuse the Yankees of being too professional at times, but thank God you can't accuse them of getting each other "psyched" by doing "naked pull-ups"!!!

Call me a sour Dodgers fan, but I heard that certain members of the Boston Red Sox would tear the little "do not remove" tags from their respective mattresses as a pre and post-game ritual. It's all about hard work, sportsmanship, teamwork, and ignoring something that clearly says "do not remove under penalty of law"!

Way to bring some pride to Major League Baseball.
