Okay, Keith brought up that there aren't enough nice people in the world the other day. . .well, in the midst of this heated election, lets be nice about the people we're voting against. And I mean really nice (no backhanded compliments or sarcasm).

Okay for my part I will say that George Bush was able to garner strong international support for the fight we had going in to Afgahnistan.

There's plenty I like about the Republican party, at least on paper...mainly, the issue of state's rights being of more importance these days, and the idea of "smaller government."

That said, I can't stand Bush because of how much he actually betrays "true" Republican idealologies for the sake of the more extremist right-wingers in the party. He's expanded the size and power of the Federal government to absurd levels, well past even wartime sensibilities.

Guys like John McCain I think represent real Republicans, and he's quit possibly the only "major" politician around these days I honestly respect and admire.

When it comes to Bush, I'll give him credit for sticking to his decisions, and being very decisive...even if I usually view his decisions as wrong.

But in the end, I have no problem with your average Republican or conservative. There's no reason for me to see them as my "enemy," or even that they're doing anything wrong. I just tend to have a different opinion. There's always a middle ground, and that should ultimately be the final option when it comes to political decisions....not proving the other side wrong or pissing them off.
