I used to think McCarver was a very educated baseball man & was happy to hear him share the nuances of the game on the rare occasion that I got to hear him. Now that I get to hear him throughout the playoffs every year I want to jump through the fucking TV & ring his neck. He is wrong so often it is painful. And when he does share a little nugget of baseball information, it's something every big time baseball fan already knows & has heard analyzed ad nauseum, and every casual baseball fan couldn't possibly care less about.

McCarver knows the game but is a stubborn old fool at times. I saw one time where he 'suggested' what a batter should have done 'which i think was bunt' but the batter swung away and got a hit. I'm not sure if it was the exact scenario but Mccarver wouldn't shut up about after the play "in his mind' the guy should've bunted...

1st off - he should just say it once
2nd off - the guy got a hit so it worked out and proved him wrong for at least that play

sometimes you have to go with instinct and not always the law of averages
