The single came out "a favored house atlantic" and i hated at first, but it grew on me. i ended up buying the CD, and it's been in my player for the last 3 weeks, easily winning my best album of the year, because every song in my opinion is great.

now the question is, is the first album as good? better? if anybody has heard is it worth for me to buy. i've tried downloading it, but morpheus has been crashing since the latest downloads.

if Cambria really sells a lot really fast, does that make it a Cambrian Explosion?

Strange.

Definitely better. Buy it. If you like In Keeping Secrets that much, Second Stage Turbine Blade will not disappoint.

I've been listening to CaC for months, it spent most of the summer as the most played songs on my iPod.

Second Stage is also a really good album, but if you think Rush's influence on the band is evident in Secrets, Second Stage makes it seem like they started out as a Rush cover band.

And I'm still waiting to see the CaC comic book.

Appropriate abbreviation, since "cack" is indeed what they sound like.

Huzzah for bumping a 3 year old thread.

New Coheed song is out now. And I'm just waiting for the album to leak. I've already purchased my tickets for their fall tour, and I cannot wait.

I don't think I've ever been MORE wrong about a band in my entire life. I saw the lead singer and heard a part of one song, and thought what a shitty band this must be. Then I actually listened to their music and they are just fucking amazing. I constantly am listening to either Good Apollo 1 or In Keeping Secrets. Just both fucking amazing albums, and I cannot be more excited for Good Apollo 2 to come out.

Also, they are touring with Clutch, so I got a bunch of Clutch's music and am getting into them, as well.

This is one of those bands that I get to say "I saw them when they were still playing basements and diy shows" but then again that was only in 2001. I have never been impressed by them. I think its because when they first came out, they didnt sound any different then any other band playing at the time. They aren't bad, but they aren't good either.

See, this is the sort of thought, well not the AIDS thing, but the basic hating thing, that I had for Coheed before I finally grabbed and listened to one of their albums.

I also am amazed by bands who write albums on concepts or stories, rather than life, seeing that I can't do either because I'm so uncreative. But I can at least understand writing based on life. Writing songs and albums based off of short stories or diaries they found or whatever just astounds me. I think this might be why I like The Mars Volta so much, also.

In closing, I think I might just like prog rock or something.

My favorite Long Island band though is THE STRYDER <3 pop punk.

That joint is long since closed down. They moved up the street a bit to a similarily funky place called the KillTime

picture 2 city rowhomes, one "normal" with a door connecting to another that is completely gutted out except for an old furnace, a small stage, tons of graf, and a giant head paper sculpture. That joint is closed now too.

That was part of the fun of it! I never made it to the Stalag, but the Killtime was apparently a step up, but not much of a step up. I used to strip my car of anything of value whatsoever before I left Delaware to head there, and then you move very quickly to get to the venue. Not to mention the bathroom there was pretty much the most horrid thing ever.

Great video man!!

Muddfoot was one of the first island bands that I ever got into.. now I am thinking about all that old shit and want to find my demo tapes and 7 inch's. Little known fact... the lead singer of muddfoot is the "main" in the rancid time bomb video.

delusion was another great band, they later became miracle of 86 and then the lead singer went on to become some super famous indie singer... its funny to see all these people on kevin devine's myspace page and I'm like " I have seen him perform like 35 times when he was a kid"

And thanks for bringing up the wetlands... I was devastated when they closed that place down :( ... saw soooo many great shows there including Avail.

Has everyone heard of "Neverender"? 4 Days, 4 Shows, 4 Albums in their entirety. You could buy passes for all 4 shows plus a meet and greet and an acoustic performance for like $100 a piece, but my wife and I failed to get for any of the shows. London, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles.

We just discovered that single tickets are still available for the Chicago shows. $27 (plus fees) per show. So my wife is in the process of buying tickets to the shows for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th albums right now. And plane tickets. I've never been to Chicago. Now I'm flying out just to see a show.

Alright, so those were three of the best shows I've ever been to. They were so amazingly on-point every show. They came out and shot the shit (to the sky) with the audience before every show, too.

Just such an amazing vibe all the way around, from the band to the audience. I'm so glad my wife and I have a drinking problem and drunkenly impulse bought the tickets to the shows.

Also, we read such bad reviews for the Riviera Theater before we went there and the venue is fucking great. We loved it.

The new record is pretty wonderful. When I first heard it a few weeks ago :innocent: I couldn't get into it. It wasn't that it was bad, but No World For Tomorrow was simply amazing. In my opinion one of the top five records of the last decade.

But I listened to Black Rainbow again, and it grew on me. A lot. My only real complaint now with it is that it doesn't end nearly as strong as their previous material.
