View Full Version : A question about SONIC

They aren't many SONIC restaurants in New Jersey, and while Liz and I were on vacation, we decided to try one.

The tab was 12 bucks, and after it was delivered to my car, I gave the girl two bucks - a standard 20 percent tip.

She seemed SHOCKED that I gave her a tip and gave me the "Gee, Thanks Mister!" routine.

So for the people who are Sonic regulars - I take it that you're not supposed to tip?

It's fast food. McDonald's with waiters.

I tip the Burger King when he gives me a reacharound, but that's about it.

I don't think they deliver to your car in NJ, either.

Yeah, people usually just give the sonic girls whatever change is left. I usually give about 3 to 5 dollars just because I think maybe it'll make their day just a little more tolerable. I do the same with good waiters and waitresses. I used to hate giving great service for 5 dollars. So, my minimum tip at a restaraunt is 5 bucks.

Sonic is the worst. I rank it below A&W and just above Jack in the Box

I just usually throw them a few gold coins.

I never saw a single Sonic while living in VA, yet, they tempted me daily with their goddamn commercials.

Sonic's Website, with locator (http://www.sonicdrivein.com/)

There are no Sonic Drive-Ins in the entire northeast.

Speaking as someone who worked in a restaurant, that's kind of Overkill.

I tipped 5 bucks on a 10 dollar breakfast in Vegas, but that's only because they comped us all the OJ, and did me a favor by getting me somethign that wasn't on the regular menu.

Overall, I try to tip 20-30 percent depending on service up to 15 bucks, and then keep it around 20 percent after that.

Oh nevermind... there aren't many SONICs in New Jersey so the place he was at, not the northeast, had a SONIC. I get it now.

I had never been to a Sonic till I visited Colorado 2 years ago. Damn, the food is good, but everyone there weighs about 900 lbs. And the best fast food joint on Earth is:

Best fries and shakes EVER.

Last time I went to Checkers I was driving with my then fiance (now my wife) to Staten Island in a Penske Rental truck preparing for my move the next day into our new place. We stopped at the one in Linden NJ on RT 1 near the airport.

THe next day I had food poisoning and was half useless for the move. I felt like an ass while her dad and brother carried alot of the big stuff. So fuck you Checkers.

Wow! I remember Rally's when I was in Mississippi. Did Rally's get bought out by Checkers?? Best sandwich at Rally's was the Rally-Q which was the BBQ sandwich. :) Damn the South had some good eats.
