Ok, so I'm talking about the leader of Libya. That's how google news spelled his name today.

Did a quick search and found this info about how various organizations spell his name:

Qaddhafi (New York Review of Books)
Qaddafi (New Republic)
Gaddafi (Time)
Kaddafi (Newsweek)
Khadafy (Maclean's)
Qadhafi (U.S. News & World Report)
Qadaffi (Business Week)
Gadaffi (World Press Review)
Qadaffi (Business Week),
Gadaffi (World Press Review)
Qathafi (Libya's UN mission)
Qadhdhafi (Library of Congress)

So Oracle, I ask you: Which one is it?

All of the above. The problem with Arabic names is that they can be spelled a variety of ways because there is no accepted transliteration system.

Same thing with Osama. "Osama bin Laden" seems to have been the one variation finally settled on by "western" media outlets, but for a good year after 9/11 there seemed like there were 4-5 different versions of his name used at any given time.

And let's not forget the spelling issues that let "Yousseff Islam" onto a plane a couple weeks back.
