I chipped a DVD.

I dropped a DVD and took a good inch sized chunk out of the outer edge. When I put it in my DVD player it works fine but it makes a loud whirrring noise. Will playing this DVD hurt my DVD player?

Yeah, I saw that. They had to up the RPM's to destroy some CD's. I'm more worried that the DVD is unbalanced.

well for one, youll lose the end, whatever special features are on the missing part of the DVD are gone. and yea they upped it, but the CD wasnt already weaker either. it wont mess up the DVD player unless it breaks

then their is a good chance you miss the end of the movie. basically whatever was written on the bottom of the missing space and highger is gone and will just skip after that. if you took an inch outta a cd, thats about half, so
