LOL. Funniest callback line of the week!

Go with the iPod. I have one and I love it. I'd get nothing else. I've used others, but none work nearly as well or have the feel and versatility that iPods offer. Granted there are a few from other companies that look pretty promising, but as it is today, I think the iPod is the best.

They are both very good. So you can't really go wrong. If the FM tuner is important to you then that could be the deal maker.

I have the 4G ipod and love it. I use it everyday and have had no problems. the ear phones it comes with sound crappy.

The tuner on the iRiver IHP series isn't very good. I have the 40GB model. Unless the signal is very strong or you're right near the transmitter, it's static-y and fades in and out. I listen to a local station near where I live and while it comes in fine on the car all the way up into Union county, on the IHP it gets bad a couple of miles out of Eatontown (where the station/transmitter are).

I heard there's a tuner add-on for the Ipod, but I don't know how good that one is in comparison.

I have an I-Pod 20GB which replaced my worn out Creative Labs Nomad Jukebok 20 GB (replaced for free via Best Buy protection program :)). Having two units to compare against I'd say that the I-Pod has an excellent form factor. The newer I-Pod 20s are even slightly smaller than the one I have so they've only gotten better.

The problem with the I-Pod are twofold. First, the batteries which you've probably already heard about. The I-pod will last about 6 hours with regular use. I use my Ipod probably about an hour a day, and I charge it maybe twice a week so battery for me isnt really an issue. The second issue is you cannot create playlists or edit your mp3 library on the unit itself. On the Creative Nomad I would often make playlists on the fly while traveling. With the I-pod you can create 1 playlist on the fly but you cannot save it. You have to go through I-tunes (or other 3rd party software) with the unit plugged into your computer to make new playlists. In general, in order to dumb down the interface (which makes it easy to use) they took out many features found in other units.

All in all, form factor was my biggest consern and I found the IPod more preferable.

Good luck!
