When my sister and I were younger, my mother had us both IQ tested by a professional (i guess to see if they were going to need to buy us helmets to wear on the bus to school).

Anyway when i got older she told me my score, and I have done a few of these online tests just to see how good they are.

Suprisingly, they are usually within 7 points of my school, which is a +- 5%.

either way, a good way to kill a 1/2 hour at work

It's true. I skipped second grade and was supposed to be some sort of genius, went to a specialized high school, scored crazy high on all sorts of tests, etc. etc.

After a year of continuous usage of E (a lot more than casual use though, around 10 pills a weekend for a year), I'm not as quick on my feet as I used to be. I was actually considering seeing a neurologist to see if they can find something wrong.

There's more evidence that the wildly-popular, feel-good "rave" drug known as ecstasy can have potentially devastating effects on brain cells. And women who use the drug for extended periods are particularly susceptible to this damage.


Also known as MDMA, ecstasy is cheap, relatively easy to get, and seems more innocuous than other "recreational" drugs because it's taken in pill form, not snorted or injected. Ecstasy is thought to produce an overall sense of happiness and well-being by affecting the brain chemicals dopamine and serotonin.


Using the high-tech scanning device known as SPECT, Dutch researchers found that female heavy ecstasy users, when compared with light users, ex-users, and nonusers of either sex, had significant changes and reductions in the brain cells that transport serotonin. They report their findings in the Dec. 1 issue of The Lancet.


"Serotonin imbalance is thought to underlie depression, anxiety, panic disorder, and disorders of impulse control," the researchers write.


On a positive note, the researchers suggest that the effects of heavy ecstasy use may be reversible, because the brain cells of ex-users did not show the same changes.


In an accompanying editorial, researchers from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore call for additional, larger studies to confirm these preliminary findings and look more closely at gender differences and whether the changes really are reversible.

They started out on a straight highway and went in opposite directions for 6 miles, then each made a left turn and went another 8 miles. The question was, how far apart are the two cars? I figured 28 miles, but it wasnt one of the options! I hate that crap! Then there were these number sequences that didnt seem to have any rhyme or reason, like 141, 120, 100, 87,___. The question is whats the next number suppose to be? and they give all these numbers. I just dont see a pattern that would give me a clue as to what the next number would be. I think thats why I scored so low. Unless its results are also based on time, because it took me about a half hour or so to answer the questions.

12 miles (6 miles for each) apart in one direction. 16 miles (8 miles for each) in the other direction (remember, both go in opposite directions). Draw a line between the 12 and the 16 to make a right triangle - and remember that a^2+b^2=c^2, or more simly, remember your 3-4-5 triangle from geometry class - so you have 12 = 4*3, 16=4*4 and the other side must be 4*5, which is 20. I imagine you just added 6*2 + 8*2 but the question asked how far apart they were, not how long would the line be if you followed it from one car to th eother along the path.

I think you mean 144 (12^2), 121 (11^2), 100 (10^2), 81 (9^2), 64 (8^2), ??

I don't think it's based on time. And yes, that would be why you scored whatever you scored - the point of the test supposedly is to test your intelligence, and your intelligence is apparently measured in part by how well you can recognize patterns. I think it's all bs, but hey, it's kind of fun. Reminds me a bit of Games magazine. I loved that mag!
