View Full Version : Bush Bashing going too far

I have no problem when people criticize the President but there are some people especially the moveon.org crowd who go too far. For example they compare Bush to Adolf Hitler. Give me a fucking break, or they will say that Bush is the real terrorist. Are they on fucking crack? Ive supported the president and there are some issues where there is room for appropriate criticism no matter what your political views are.
What really pissed me off is when someone at work said that they hoped the situation in Iraq gets much worse ie more beheadings and american casualties, just to spite Bush. also he said that he wanted his portfolio to go belly up and the economy to go into a depression. I wanted to knock his head off when I heard that.
I have disagreed with many of Clintons policies but I never wished harm to our troops deployed to Kosovo and to Haiti under his administration.
People like that who cross the line like that have no fucking common sense and need to get some sense beaten into them

I personally do not agree with many of the president's policies...but to wish harm on people who are only there do their job is wrong on so many lvl's...how could some one with a conscience say something like that...

There are fanatics on both side. And if you were a member of moveon.org as I am, you'd know that the Hitler ad was shunned and deemed irresponsible by the group. It was a submitted ad for a contest, not an actual ad.
But regardless, you have the Jerry Falwells, Pat Robertsons, and we have the Che Guevara worshiping weirdos. On both sides there are voices of reason. Don't hate on the psychos, it's just a waste of time, because they will always exist.

Exactly. These nuts exist on both sides, and always will. To make them the focus just allows us to shift away from the "real issues."
Case in point:
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Republican National Committee acknowledged this week that it distributed campaign literature in West Virginia and Arkansas warning voters that liberals want to ban the Bible. (http://cnn.aimtoday.cnn.com/news/story.jsp?floc=FF-APO-PLS&idq=/ff/story/0001/20040924/1938217778.htm&photoid=20040806NY376)
Oh, I'm sorry. That was the RNC.

i certainly remember a few choice religious leaders blaming 9/11 on women's liberation.
That seems a bit wacky.
And didn't Bush just say the other day in a speech that Kerry is aiding the terrorists? i think he did. It was all over the news, even on Fox 5.

Ture, they are on both sides and are not necessarily anything new to the political system. However this year the force has been massive in the campaign against Bush, so much that people will go out of their way to smear his way in any way they can and to wish the worst under his administration. But the reason I can't stand this new breed of Bush-bashers is because they are uninformed and just following the crowd, especially the younger kids who listen to their punk music telling them that Bush is evil but giving little to no reasons as to why he is evil. I could easly start an argument as to why Bush is a bad president, or why Kerry could potentially be a bad president, but these Bush-bashers can't.
It's a shame people don't realize that although he's the "president" he's basically just a scapegoat.

So, the fact that people have called Kerry a murderer, liar and traitor over Vietnam, and now he has been accused by the VP himself that his election to president would actually aid Al Queda and the terrorists WANT him to win, what, that's just something to brush off the shoulder?
Pardon me if the "poor put-upon Bush" thing doesn't exactly bite me. ESPECIALLY after 8 years of Clinton.
Some liberals call Bush a Nazi, some conservatives go out of their way to line liberals up with terrorists and call them traitors. WHY are these people getting so much attention?

I do not know if this was in reference to my last post or not but I never attempted to justify attacks on any candidate. I will admit that the attacks on John Kerry have been quite bad (saying he aids Al-Queda, come on that's a little much), but I think it may come out of the backed into the corner feeling, because there are so many who hate Bush, I (assume) his administration is going to try to discredit Kerry any way that they can. Apparently that's how politics work.
The fact is: All "bashers" suck regardless of who they're bashing. But the bashers this election are exceptionally bad to the point where I don't even want to participate in politics anymore because they're so rampant.

it seems if anyone would take the 'bashing' too seriously then they have different issues going on...
it's has become part of the process, both sides do it, and the sad part is these candidates are supposed to be setting an example of good character and i feel calling each other names like liars and flip-flops on national and international broadcasts embarrasses the whole country...
just talk about the specifics of how you will improve the country. don't attempt to get your position by making someone else look bad

What Cheney actually said:
"It's absolutely essential that eight weeks from today, on Nov. 2, we make the right choice, because if we make the wrong choice then the danger is that we'll get hit again and we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States,"

Oh, I'm sorry, he said that voting John Kerry in will only LEAD to an attack. Yeah, that's a million times better.
So basically, it's still a scumbag statement, but just a different kind of scumbag statement from what I incorrectly implied. My bad.

Ahhh, bite me. Cheney's been on a tear lately with really shitty comments in his speeches, just lowdown cheap shots at Kerry and the Democrats. There was a push to inply "terrorists wanted John Kerry to win" earlier this year, but it was pundit/private-based. So, to Mr. Dick Cheney, I apologize for screwing up and blaming him for that.
He's still a cunt, and what he actually said is still a shitty thing to say, and he can go fuck himself.

especially the moveon.org crowd who go too far. For example they compare Bush to Adolf Hitler. Give me a fucking break, or they will say that Bush is the real terrorist.
moveon.org did not compare Bush to Hitler.
They did a commercial contest where two different contestants did - moveon.org disqualified them, but that didn't stop the RNC from airing the commercials on their website and claiming that moveon made those statement.
In any event - Mojo said a lot of what I would have said, especially regarding the bullshit about the thin skinned bullies on the right who had no problem dishing shit out on Clinton for 8 (and more) years, and have turned their venom on Gore and Kerry, but really can't take it, nor understand it, when someone on "the other team" gets down and dirty too.
So...I wonder if those on the right had their panties in a twist in the 1990s when the following (and more) attacks were made agains the President of the United States????
