Trapper John or BJ Hunnicut?
Blake or Potter?
Burns or Winchester?
Fun Hawkeye or Morose Hawkeye?
Trapper, Blake, Burns always kicked so much more ass.

I've gotta say:
Trapper John. BJ was such a sensitive wuss.
Blake. Maclean Stevenson is so much more fun to watch than that little troll Potter talking about his damn horses.
Burns I guess. Winchester was too pompous, just not the proper tone for the character. Burns had the pathos, so he could be a prick sometimes but you also felt sorry for him.
Screw Hawkeye.
You forgot Radar vs. Klinger. Radar was the heart of that show.

BJ was an awful character who basically did the same thing every episode whine about missing his daughter and wife. Trapper DID care about his family but that he didn't mention it all the time and could actually do more things.
Blake was just more interesting than Potter who was essentially a whiny older Hunnicut.
It was the fact that Blake and Trapper were generally 'moral' men who did immoral things like cheating in a time of war while Potter and Hunnicut were moral men who, while keeping moral, were just being pussies.
Winchester is the closest to being an acceptable newer character. Mostly because he was different than the other characters. Not just Burns slightly different but an original character. However Burns fit in more to the show, not just because he was part of the movie and TV show but because he was a classic sniveling villain. His "goodbye margaret" is one of the most powerful moments on the show. He was kind of the Al Dukes of the 4077.
And Radar was better than Klinger. Radar was the childlike innocent put in the horrid situation. Klingon was a moron.
And yes, Screw Hawkeye.
