Didnt see a thread that was previously posted, then again, I cant really say I looked too hard.

Anyway, the first episode is on tonight at 10 as CBS continues to move with its plan to have a different CSI show 6 nights a week and then Cold Case on Sunday. Im definitely watching. Both CSIs have been superb and I look forward to having another one. Not much to watch on TV Wednesday nights anyway.

Much Thanks to Jester for the sig!

I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about.

So I'll watch CSI: NY, tape Law and Order and watch the 11pm rerun of Rescue Me. Good TV night!

Very good episode. I love Gary Sinise as the lead CSI. The episode itself seemed like an interesting choice for a premiere, didnt seem very Jerry Bruckheimer-like. Nevertheless, very good episode, looks good.

Powerful, Intense and just fabulous!

It is really nice to know that there is some good television on these days. Few and far between but there is something worth watching.

Definitely a quality episode to get it started. Much better without Caruso like in the cross-over episode.

By the way, anyone still watching CSI: Miami? I can't believe they killed off such a major part of the show. He played such a great character.

Tim "Speed" Speedle took one in the chest in the middle of a jewelry store & bled out right there on the scene. Just like the episode where he took one in the chest (but into the Kevlar) during the drug/evidence disposal hi-jacking it was because he never cleaned his gun & it misfired during the incident. Rough episode.

I just started watching Miami this summer. Caruso rules. Who they really should have killed off is Khandi Alexander. She was only good on NewsRadio.

NY was good tonight, a little darker than Miami and the original. Which could be a good thing and make it more original. Sinise is the only character I care about now, hopefully that will change with more episodes.

You're right that they really haven't even attempted to develop a secondary character in the NY version yet. The Greek woman is there, but she really has nothing interesting going on at the moment.

The other interesting angle they're using is the steady move away from science for the lead character. Grissom is a walking library of scientific knowledge. Caruso's character is a cop with a strong scientific background. Sinise seems to be an NYPD detective, who has an ace in the hole with the wheelchair-bound doc who's brain he picks for info.
