09/14/04) MINEOLA - Nassau District Attorney Denis Dillon announced the latest arrests Tuesday in a crackdown on unemployment fraud.
Dillon says the 25 defendants stole a total of more than $160,000 in unemployment benefits. He says they were collecting the benefits while they were working.

Dillon says his office and the New York State Labor Department joined forces in investigating unemployment fraud five years ago. Since then, he claims they have made 175 arrests, totaling more than $1 million in illegal benefits.

Dillon says business owners throughout Nassau have been paying higher unemployment tax rates because of individuals collecting benefits to which they were not entitled.

Keicia Duncan ,24, of Hempstead, was charged with two counts of first-degree identity threft in addition to other charges. She collected 5,054 dollars.

I was Keicia Duncan's Supervisor for at least 3 months. As a matter of fact, when she left my department, a couple of days later she got nabbed by the District Attorney. It's a damn shame! She was extremely f'able.

Have you ever been arrested or know someone who has? If so, what was the reason?

furie seems to know a bunch of people getting nabbed these days...

One of my best friends from middle school I found out years later ended up in jail for life for shooting a gas station clerk dead during a robbery. I only knew the guy up through 9th grade, and then didn't hear about what happened to him until like 5-6 years later. Once I moved at the end of freshman year we didn't keep in touch because I went overseas, but it was still pretty nizarre and unnerving to hear that happen to a kid you played NBA Jam with on the SNES every day for like a year straight.

I didn't know him, but I do live around the corner from where Sam Manzie lived. That was a disturbing couple of weeks.

Obviously you bought him a big mac, but how did he wind up in your trunk?

And why are you guys molesting women who have just given birth? (while wearing wrestling t-shirts)

I have cousins who have been in and out of jail for various drug and alcohol-related problems. Way to make the family proud boys!
