When/If I get a job, I was thinking about going with the Dodge Magnum.
Opinions? It comes with a sick V8 if i go the v8 route...

Dodge truck engines are notorious gas guzzlers, especially the 8's. It's one of the reasons I switched from Dodge to Ford. What's the mileage stats on it?

Took the Dodge Dart, a '74
My mother left a yard but I needed one more
Shaheed had me covered with a hundred greenbacks
So we left Brooklyn and we made big tracks
drove down the Belt, got on the Conduit
Came to a toll, we paid and went through it
Had no destination, we was on a quest
Ali laid in the back so he could get rest
Drove down the road for two-days-and-a-half
The sun had just risen on a dusty path
Just then a figure had caught my eye
A man with a sombrero who was four feet high
I pulled over to ask were we was at
His index finger he tipped up his hat
"El Segundo," he said, "my name is Pedro
If you need directions, I'll tell you pronto"
Needed civilization, some sort of reservation
He said a mile south, there's a fast food station
Thanks, senor, as I start up the motor
Ali said, "Damn, T, why you drive so far for?"

I like the Magnum.. its looks really nice in red or blue.. But go with the V6... the V8 is a waste of money.. do you plan on towing things here and there?.. If not, save money and go with the V6..

i dunno if you have ever driven a V8 before jeff BUT i know when i drive her Explorer it feels like you are goin 35 mph BUT actually you are goin 55mph
are you looking for something more SUV ish? or something like a crossfire- chrystlers are good cars

sharp looking car!
one thing that comes to mind is "whatever happened to aerodynamics" to save fuel. I'm seeing alot of new cars with the big squarish fronts to them. It looks good but it doesn't look like aerodynamics were considered.
Chrysler makes a very attractive product but from my only experience of owning a Plymouth Caravelle it was a beautiful car but it didn't hold up well to the city roads and the metal seemed thin. Maybe they make them more solid these days?

In reality, the aerodynamics of a car or wing is greater if the front edge is rounded and bulbous, like below:
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/naziprison/images/glid_wing1.gif
To me, there isnt any needs for a car to have a V8 engine, a V6 is more an enough to propel such a vehicle. People just like the presitige of having the 8 so it sounds more impressive. I have a 4 cylinder in my Camry and it easily brings the car up to highway speed. Id go with the smallest engine you could. Car makers are in bed with Big Oil and they want you to use as much gas as possible! Its in your own interest to save however much money you can.

reminded me of something i always find strange... there isn't a road in the US with a speed limit over 75(that i know of) yet some cars they sell you can reach 140mph or more
only police cars should be able to go over 'let's say' 80...
yeah i'm an old fart, so what!

I like it. I wish the back looked a little less like a station wagon, but its a nice car. It seems like theres a ton of room inside and comes with some nice options.

In Montana, there is no day time speed limit. or at least this used to be. they may have repealed it. it now may be 85.
I agree though. All cars should have a 80 or 90 mile per hour limiter. no reason to ever go faster than that
