AS I am watching the names being called for the victims, my thoughts go out to the victims and their families of the WTC, Pentagon and Southwest Pennsylvania tragedies. Seeing the media coverage of that day is still a shock to me 3 years later.

Mixed feelings of sorrow and anger still are there. Some might say just dont watch all the coverage, but its my opinion that it is important because our way of life was attacked that day.

It really pisses me off when some people say 9/11 happened because of our foreign policy or our support for Israel, it is indirectly saying that 9/11 was our fault, that we brought this to ourselves.

Lets face it, the people who financed, planned, and carried out these atrocities hate us, hate our way of life, and want to destroy our country. Somehow they feel offended that America is the greatest country. They think that everything about America is evil. Going to Baseball games, hangin out at the bar for happy hour , Rock concerts, mini skirts, just to name a few are evil according to the terrorists
and they want to destroy our culture.

We are infidels according to those sickos, and they in their twisted minds want more of us dead.

Let us remember the victims, and lets salute our brave ones protecting our way of life

Watching the ceremonies three years later I'm still choked up about it all. I find myself just as angry with those who did this as I was back then.

My only hope is that the families of the victims have found a way to move on in life though never forget. I know I won't. I was lucky in that no one in my family was affected by those events.

Though I remember the email that one of my closest friends who lives in California sent to me at work just minutes after we all realized what was going on. Quite simply she asked "Are you okay?". At work we had no TV or any source of information other than a clunky radio that someone in the office had, but my friend and I ended up having a several hunded email exchange that day and she would continuously send me images of the devestation. My boss and co-workers actually crowded around my computer to see the images that they as well could not see. I remember my brother calling me from one of his stops in one of his customers homes recounting the images he was seeing on the TV screen and then the word that the Pentagon was attacked, and then rumors of the Capitol and White House. It was one of the freakiest and scariest moments I've ever experienced. I also remember walking cubicle to cubicle comforting many of the people I work with who were freaking out. I was screaming inside but I wanted my friends to stay calm.

One of the guys I work with had a son who had gone right near the Trade Center for a job interview and there was a few hours where he was missing, I remember the frantic attempts to reach him and how we all hoped that his son was okay, and then when his son actually called how wonderful it felt that he was alive.

9/11 for all its horror and sadness reminded me just how precious life is. I could never look at life and people the same way again. It also showed me what awesome friends I have and how much I love my family.

God bless the victims and their families and those fighting right now overseas to protect our freedom. May they return home safe and their efforts be remembered always.

Each year it seems to fuck me up worse. I've been having nightmares everynight for the past 3 weeks.

Oh and I just wanna give a big "fuck you" to the idiots in the rest of the country who try to lionize the victims. By making them out to be some sort of grand heros, you take away who they were. They were fuckin people! our people! People with families and homes and neighbors who loved them. people with dreams that will forever disappear in the dust that rose as the towers came down.

Now for the rest of the country they're frozen in one sliver of time. frozen like statues. But they were more them just names being read aloud once a year.

Patriot's Day. Feh! Don't make it something its not. Don't try to sugar coat it. Don't try to hijack our grief by putting a pretty name on it. It was 3000 murders. That's what it is. The day of 3000 murders.

god bless you and your family reeshy. I hope they have been handling the day alright. I think today is a day when we should realize why we are going aftere terrorists in there homeland instead of waiting for them to come here, whether we may believe that the Iraqi's are terrorists and if they are connected to al-qaeda is another question and has probably been discussed a hundred times on this board, god bless the country and our soldiers.

I was thinking that three years was a long time ago in the week leading up to today.

When the day actually hit, I realized it wasn't.

ok i watched every name being read today. and i got choked up when every parent was done with their list and said "and my son or daughter ____" and had some sort of message for their loved one or in some cases two loved ones.

One french woman who lost her son said a few words to him in french. I had no idea what she was saying but the pain she still felt was very obvious and i actually cried for her and every parent that lost a child that day.

Now having said that, PLEASE tell me someone else saw the old married couple up there reading names towards the beginning. The husband kept reading the wrong name off the list and the wife yelled at him after EVERY name he read off. NBC actually had to stop showing the victims pictures until they were done.
