And I'm an atheist. This stuff is just so addictive though. It's so over the top that you sit there thinking, "Is this guy for real?" The other day I was watching it and this guy was screaming about how Satan is behind MTV and this and that. It was hilarious.

It's funny that you should find this guy talking about how satan is behind MTV over the top. I had a talk with the big S yesterday, and he said that this guy was right. Weird.

"Healing water" infomercials get my attention but other than that, stuff like sunday morning religous services are just boring as hell.

LC, do you get the network with the lady with the huge pile of purple hair on her head and the Tammy Faye eye makeup?

They are the Best.
The more Apocolyptic the better.
And a Healer? Whoa.
I dont know what channel he's on but two com to mind.
Benny Hinn: It looks like Hinn is taking in about ten gold bricks a day, looking at his lifestyle, and set. This guy just rakes it in. Not sure as to healing, but I think he does a prayer cloth thing, where they send you a cloth from a huge pile that they have prayed over, which pales in comparison to...
Peter Popoff: Great name right? He's on too; and he can heal the lame, make crutches and wheelchairs useless, recall Exact Names, first and last, including addresses, and Specific maladies, on command, and he fills up, or filled up, basketball arenas.
Only problem was a few skeptics, and one specifically, James Randi aka The Amazing Randi, knew that this was Fraud. A simple visit to a few of his performances with a radio scanner and tape recorder revealed Pete was getting cues from his wife, reading to him from 'Prayer cards' the people had filled in prior to the show. Sometimes Months prior. She cued him with a simple pea sized in ear wireless earpiece. I have the audio of the scanner, with Popoff recorded from the audience mixed, and he follows his wife around as she tells him who and what and where they are sitting. He filed for bankruptcy, but is back, after being totally and completely debunked.
Sound familiar? It was bascially the plot of that Steve Martin flick Leap of Faith.
What does that say about us?

Just don't watch it while you're getting baked or you'll wind up sending in all your money to buy Bibles for El Salvador.
