I've never seen it so bad this morning. There were actual lakes with waves in the streets of Hoboken. I saw cars blocking streets because they floated to the middle of them. Knee deep water in most places.
This storm wasn't even the remains of Frances!

i woke up and heard on TV about all the flooding. so i walked to my back door and looked outside to see a dry deck and dry street. I live in Vernon and at least at 7:30 AM we had hardly any rain. though from what i hear its suppose to really come down hard tonight/tomorrow. and for some reason they still have some water restritions in our town from the droughts situations of 2 years ago despite the fact we have gotten more than enough rain/snow to make up for it.

I was driving on 287 this morning and it was pretty bad. no real flooding, but a lot of hydro-planing. its seems to be breaking now, not sure if it is supposed to rain more.

I just got to work after spending 3 hours on the road.. It usually takes me 25 minutes to work but there was a huge back up right in the entrance of the Pulaski Skyway & Doremus Ave exit.. I was there for hours...
Good thing is that I'll be at work for only 5 hours.. :eg:
And I spoke with Alexa! *inside joke* :eg:

It's raining here, but nothing drastic yet. There's a flood watch through Thursday, and tornado alerts all over the place, so we'll see...

i have to be at work anywhere from 930-1000. by 945 I was no where near close to work. The belt and the cross island were closed due to flooding.
So I called my boss to tell him i'm going to be late. He had in fact turned around and gave up. he encouraged me to do the same.
I had a better idea. I picked up my partner, and met up with my boss at Croxley's Ale house. Had a nice luch and have been drinking since noon.

I woke up this morning and I heard Don Imus say there was a flash flood warning in effect for LI... and I had to hear it from Imus.
I got a lot of rain, heavy at times. It's been on-and-off, though.

Several people where I work didnt come in and some people were very late. When I got to Flatbush on the LIRR, there was water POURING through the ceiling and of course my Metrocard had insufficient funds and there was a line at the machine 20 deep, so I hoofed it 17 blocks in the rain and got to work soaked to the bone. So of course, it was a day of hell at work, so I am sitting here home now with a big ass black man sized beer bottle getting shit faced..wooohoooo

You're not kidding HHH. The shit Ive seen not only on TV but after the Hurricane what was once grass is now a lake. Mobile homes in my area are pretty fucked up. The scary part of this , this will be strike 3 for some people if Ivan comes ashore. Look at this path Ivan is supposed to take, If Tampa gets hit with a cat 4 hurricane I promise you it will be worse than Frances did. The last MAJOR hurricane to hit the Tampa Bay Area was back in like the 1900's.
