First time you forgot about 9/11

The first time I can remember just losing my self in a moment was Sept 21. I was watching the Met game. It was the first sporting event in NY since 9/11. The Mets were down to the Braves 2-1 in the 8th inning and with a runner on first Mike Piazza hit a bomb to center field to put the Mets up 3-2. The next day I realized Mike Piazza had taken my mind off it for the night.

Do you remember the first time 9/11 left your mind?

I don't understand the question.

I mean, I've never forgotten what happened that day...but there's been hundreds of days since then that I know I didn't think about the specifics, or even the day in general. Probably by Xmas of that year I already was. Life didn't stop around me and everyone had to go on.
