Funny I just heard the opposite. The comment was something like Kerry can't get past the shadow of Clinton. Once again Clinton is interfering with Kerry getting his "message" out.
Just how you see things I guess?
I think Bush's speech was so good last night that anything that can distract from it is a plus for the Democrats.
Although, I'm sure Kerry was counting on Clinton campaigning for him, and that might be out the window at this point.

On the news according to the doctor who is peforming the surgery, the recovery apparently is very brief with the patient leaving the hospital the day after the procedure.

I never liked the man, never liked his politics and I think he's an overall scumbag who took the national security of the country and the office of the President and used it for his personal pleasure.
I have no respect for him in the slightest.
He is largely responsible for creating the lax in security that ultimately brought about one of the worst attacks on America with the World Trade Center.
I'm not saying I want the man dead, but at the same time I'm not wishing him well. Regardless of politics the man is scum and I'm glad he's out of office for now. I don't mean to sound cold but when I think about the close to 3000 people who are dead as a result of some of his actions/inactions, I have nothing but anger for the man.

Sorry Recyclers and Jerry Taker but if you think that I have come to my conclusions on Clinton based on whatever drivel comes out of the mouths of people like Hannity or Rush or whoever else then you're completely wrong. I hardly listen to talk radio.
My opinion of Clinton is my own. I do my own reading and looking at the facts and don't need some fat necked right wing human puppet to tell me how to think. You can believe what you want but I just don't happen to like the man. It has absolutely nothing to do with party affiliations. If Jimmy Carter were to die or some other democrat I'd feel sad.
Perhaps I was cold in my comments though they were no colder than some of the initial comments made after Reagan passed away. I didn't mean to be disrepectful and come off like I hope the man dies, I don't, I do hope he recovers and is well. But I have a right just as anyone else does here to voice my opinion which is to say that I didn't like him nor his policies while in office.

You know, this remark from you is tempered in my mind by the attitude and actions of most of the liberals on this board in the wake of the death of President Reagan.
OK, let's hold on a second here, Judge Roy Bean. First of all, I haven't made any comments in this thread yet. Doomstone quoted something I wrote in another thread whilst railing against the Limbaugh/Hannity et al. hosannah chorus. I'm assuming Doomstone thought it appropriate because Reefdweller's comments sounded like some that would come directly out of Michael Savage's mouth (and I have no beef with Doomstone for using it). For the record, I think Reefdweller's comments are completely wrong-headed, and frankly pretty cold, but that's between him and his maker.
For the record, THIS liberal had this to say about Reagan's death:
For good or ill (and I think there's at least a little of both), Ronald Reagan was the most consequential American politician in the past third of a century or so. Like Mojo, I disagreed with most of his policies but I have to give him major (personal) props on at least two issues: He knew when to take Yes for an answer from the Commies, much to the chagrin from some of his supporters on the Right, and ultimately made parts of the world safer and freer places (at least Eastern Europe) and he blew up a lot of liberal cant and forced people like me to come up with a better thought out world view if we were going to continue to claim the gov't. should play some role in bettering people's lives. (the Democratic party as a whole hasn't gotten this fully worked though yet, but I have hope).
On the personal front, I had great sympathy for his condition because I saw up close how horrible Alzheimer's is. I hope he's at peace now and I hope his family finds it as well.
Godspeed, Mr. President.
You could look it up. (http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/viewmessages.cfm/CurrentPage/3/forum/87/Topic/39207/RequestTimeout/500)

I consider myself leaning strongly towards the Republican camp, but having had my mom go though this same procedure all I can say is I hope he gets better and takes better care of himself. I dont really like the mans politics, but I can imagine hanging out with him and enjoying myself listening to his storys and stuff, as he comes across as a very likeable guy. Whats cool about him is that he seems to genuinely laugh at himself and he takes it well when he is beaten in a debate. I remember back when he was debating Dole and Dole hammered him with something that came out of left field, he laughed it off and tiped his head and let the broadside happen. He didnt lash back hard, as he could have, but instead kind of let Dole have his moment, which was kind of cool of him.

So I'm wrong headed because I think differently than you do. I guess anyone who disagees with you or has a different opinion is just a horrible person. If you take the time to actually read the flow of this thread you will see that I actually changed my stance in that I agreed my initial comments were a bit cold. However I restated the fact that it basically comes down to me not liking Bill Clinton. You can call that cold, and wrong, and evil and act as if I am a mindless robot of a republican machine because I happen to agree with some folks on that side who dislike him. I'm sorry if it makes you and your liberal friends choke up inside to the fact that I don't like Bill Clinton. I just happened to be smart enough to see through his bullshit.

he's the best anti-terror President we've ever had.
I guess that's why there was more domestic terror on his watch than any other president...
The first WTC attack
Oklahoma City
Not to mention the attacks on our troops from abroad by al-Qaida on the U.S.S Cole..the 93' attack on the black hawk helicopter shot down over Mogadishu. IN 1998 US embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya, are simultaneously bombed, killing 258 people and injuring more than 5,000.
Now granted when President Clinton tried to kill bin Laden by sending cruise missiles into Afghanistan during the whole Monica Lewinski situation I was completely in support of him. However I never felt he did enough to get rid of bin Laden. I also believe when he reduced our military presence around the world and made cuts to our intelligence community (which is well documented) that he significantly increased the chances of terrorists to strike in the U.S.
You can believe what you want, but this is what I believe. I don't care for him for this and many other issues, but that's just me. I do applaud him for thr work he did in turning the economy around, but I don't believe that a lot of the military cuts he made in getting the economy straightened out were ultimately for the better. It ultimately brought about the lax in security which as I said helped to be a contributing factor to the events of 9/11.

To be honest though, what would military resources have to do with stopping 9/11, specifically?
They probably could have spent 5 times as much and it still would have happened, since the whole operation sidestepped anything military-related completely.

The Cold War ended. The military approved Clinton cuts, in fact they said it needed to be reduced more. I've sat in on at least 3 Congressional hearings where members of Congress have told military leaders "I know we need to close bases. If you guys determine you need to close one in my state I'm going to kick and scream, but I'm telling you now to close it anyway. I have to object because of the jobs lost in my state, but the Cold War is over and it's long overdue that we close excess bases."
