View Full Version : Your Favorite Tannen?

Which of the Tannen characters in the BTTF trilogy is your favorite? I'd have to go with a toss up between 1985 alternate reality Bif Tannen or 1885 Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen. But since I'm choosing one, it'll be Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen. He was bad ass and hot tempered. Plus, he started a long line of Tannen's who inevitable end up with freak accidents which either cause them to have mouths full of manure, or slamming into the clock tower/court house.

I always loved the alternate 1985 cause that really creeped me out and it was just done so well. Mad Dog Tannen was ok but the only thing that bothered me and I kind of lay blame on him for it even though it was mentioned in Part II I think, was when Marty was always referred to as chicken. Now come to think of it alternate biff did call him a chicken I think once but in Part III it got to be overkill.
Awesome set of films though. Still one of my favourite trilogys.

2015 Bif Tannen
Cause he belittled his younger self.
"Make like a tree, and get outta here"
"For the love of god, it's make like a tree and leave, you sound like an idiot when you say that."
Mad Dog was pretty good, but old Bif wins.

Best Thread of The Week, and the 1955 Bif, noticing that picture of the 1985 Bif [1st pic] looks like what Sam Kinison might look like if he made it to 70.

Thomas F. Wilson. I always thought he was going to make a name for himself outside the BTTF movies because as I'm sure you'll all agree, he's a great actor (plus he's a Philly boy - nice). But the only other part I saw him play was a small guest role on the TV show "ED", but he was underused.
Looking at his profile at IMDB.com, he is mostly doing video game voices.
As for my favorite Tanner - the original Biff is funny, but I'll have to go with Mad Dog as well. Hilariously pissed off at everything.

I have a toss up between 1955 Biff and 2015 2015 Biff. Both of them seems to have had direct impacts of the future with their actions. Is it true that The Jetsons was suppose to be in the year 2000?? Can you imagine what would have to happen for 2015 to be anything like its suppose to be in the movie?

I was thinking about this and discussed it with my brother, who also has seen the movie many times; Is there a possibility in the storyline that Marty is a younger Doc? That Doc was really Marty from the future and that he came back in time to influence his younger self to set in motion all these events?

We would have to forget all about E-mail, the internet and cell phones. Remember when Marty got fired? It was faxed to him.

The most frustrating thing to me is that the future is set to 2015 and they show people in flying cars and actually having a "skyway" a skewed one no less. It's only 9 years from now and they'd better damn well have those flying cars, or at the very least hover conversions by then!!
Oh...and Power Laces on sneakers!!

Griff makes cool noises when he moves, and he hangs out with a dude who wears a soundboard on his chest. Plus he's got a Pit Bull.
I always wondered.... if Mad Dog Tannen got arrested in 1885, wouldn't that screw up the history of all Tannens forever? Would they still even be born?

Bif Tannen spotted in Europe...
A Dutch driver was covered in hundreds of liters of manure when a tank burst on a lorry carrying fertilizer, police said on Tuesday. (http://cnn.aimtoday.cnn.com/news/story.jsp?floc=FF-RTO-PLS&idq=/ff/story/0002/20040908/0756687452.htm)

As a BTTF afficionado, I must point out that you are missing a Tannen. There is the "new" 1985 Biff who comes into being after George knocks out 1955 Biff and Marty returns to the future. Now don't con me, Biff.

I know. There were technically two alternate 1985 Biff's if you include the one from the second movie who tries to con George and later brings the box with his new book inside. Then there is also the 1985 Biff who appears in the thirda move after they have correct the alternate 1985. It's a slightly different Biff if you consider that that version of Biff had his car from 1955 slammed into manure now twice at the point.
