i am trying to get to shea stadium (to see the padres game tonight (thanks to jocefus)) from port authority the map is really confusing what do i take the 7 square 7 circle or the 7 dimond

The difference in the shapes I think means express trains or something. I would take the 7 circle. But I have never taken the subway to shea, only driven. At gunpoint. GO YANKS!

I don't think it matters. the express and local trains stop at shea

Either train will get you there, but John Rocker advises the diamond, this way you spend less time sitting next to immigrants, unwed mothers and "some queer with AIDS"

I think its 2.00 each way, unless they dropped it back down to 1.50.

Just get a metro card, yuo can get one that is only for 2 trips.

take the 7 express -- the circle/diamond thing isn't always accurate ... listen to the conductor's announcement

a subway ride is $2.00 ... they don't use tokens anymore ... get a metrocard in advance, it will make getting out at the end of the game easier ...

AND NO MATTER WHAT, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, DO YOU MAKE EYE CONTACT WITH ANYONE ...

also, don't block the doors -- it's really uncool to stand in front of an open door ...

This is some helpful information as I am going to see the Dodgers at Shea on Friday. I had my Yankee Stadium experience on friday (and what an experience it was) and am looking forward to Friday. This will even give me no excuse to miss the Softball Game on Saturday since I will be in the city and my car will be at the Edison Station which is close enough to Rahway. Now if i can only find a nice sidewalk grate or someplace kind of isolated in the subway to crash for the night, I'll be SET!
