Jim White - Drill A Hole In That Substrate And Tell Me What You See
<img src=http://www.npr.org/programs/asc/archives/yearahead04/images/whitecvr.gif>
Quite a bit of serendipity led me to this album.
I was driving up the Jersey Turnpike, scanning the dial and landed on an interview with Jim White on NPR. After about 30 minutes of the interview, I found the guy really interesting and he had some quirky stories and humbled himself greatly through the whole interview. By the time I had reached my destination, they finally began to play one of his songs. I only got to hear about a minute of it, but I went inside and ordered three of his albums unheard. I have only received "Drill A hole" in the mail as of yet and I'm quite happy with it.
No rockers, a fairly slow, ambient album. More of a background, quiet type, much like the guy seemed in real life.
I can't wait to get the other two in the mail
