According to BackstageWrestling.com, Brian "Spanky" Kendrick has signed a deal with TNA. He was backstage at the Impact tapings and is currently filming vignettes for his return. He is still working dates in Zero-One, however.

Spanky's a good addition.

So are Psicosis, La Parka, and even Hector Garza, provided that everyone gets a chance to shine in the X division instead of jobbing to Jeff Jarrett in three minute squash matches (as has ALREADY happened in Psicosis' case).

TNA has finally ended the AAA deal (which is smart) and have realized that, since the majority of lucha talent are independent workers, they can sign them just about at will (which is even smarter).

They're looking towards CMLL, which is FANTASTIC, given that they have the best luchadors in Mexico. I'd love to see guys like Shocker, El Hijo del Santo, Tarzan Boy, & La Parka make frequent appearances. And I'd mark hard to see Los Guerreros del Infierno (Ultimo Guerrero & Rey Bucanero) in some X-Division tag matches.

Last I've seen of La Parka(other than the X open) he was supposedly taking on Cibernetico(sp?) in a mask vs mask match. To say the least I believe Parka won since he is more of a fan favorite.

But hey I can be wrong, I just gotta watch wrestling on the spanish channel tomorrow to find out

Hold up - that was NOT the REAL La Parka.

Here's the situation: Antonio Pena, who runs AAA - the promotion that La Parka used to work for, way back when - is pretty much a fucking asshole, so La Parka parted ways with him YEARS back.

But Pena still owns the La Parka trademark. It's kind of like how when Kevin Nash & Scott Hall left the WWF, they couldn't wrestle in WCW as "Diesel" or "Razor Ramon" since Vince still owned those trademarks.

So Pena found somebody else, stuck him in the Parka costume, and you have, for lack of a better name, "La Parka II". He's a SHITTY worker - one of many shitty workers in AAA.

The "original" Parka wrestles under the name "L.A. Park" now, but he still pretty much looks the same (with slight differences).

Just so you know. AAA Parka = shitty imposter. L.A. Park = the original, still awesome La Parka.

Regarding the WCW Parka - yes, that was the original, "real" La Parka.

Parka's defection to WCW / American independents is what eventually led to the creation of the inferior "La Parka II", as Pena saw one of his more popular workers leave, which pissed him off. In response, since he owned the Parka gimmick, he created the second La Parka and the original Parka, for legal reasons, now has to go buy the similar (yet just different enough to pass legal muster) "LA Park".

It's similar to how when Nash & Hall left WWF, the tools on the creative team decided to stick Big Titan & Kane out there as "The New Razor Ramon" and "The New Diesel" respectively.
