I bet that the Hulk would beat any other super hero in a fight, any takers? :eg:

Everytime the Hulk goes crazy, someone just calls up Dr. Strange and he puts the Hulk in a pocket dimension until he cools off.

I know its cheap, but it counts.

He's got nothing on Godzilla. If Godzilla even counts.

He's no match for Spawn or Wolverine, both of them regenerate. Spawn probably wouldnt do as well as Wolverine though, Wolverine would beat Hulk's ass.

Wolverine and Hulk usually fight to a draw. The Hulk regenerates too. Plus he gets stronger as a fight goes on. The only reason the Hulk can't beat Wolverine is cause he can't break his bones, and Wolvey just regens.

only superheroes with some magic or mystical power, like SilverSurfer or Son of Satan can beat the Hulk.

Sabretooth or Beast versus the Hulk would be a pretty kickass fight. Hulk would win though.

Spider-man seems like a bad choice but he is small and faster than Hulk and he also has that spidey-sense to know when hes about to be hit. He could also probably tie the Hulk up, too bad it would take like half an hour to shoot all that webbing.

There are a few good issues of Spiderman out there where he has to fight the Hulk. Usually he just takes him on a wild goose chase until he calms down. i mean . . . Spidey is strong--strong enough to chuck a tank-- but the Hulk is Obscene.

Another good fight would be Hulk vs. Thor, or if you wanna include bad guys, Hulk vs. Thanos.

Hulk vs. Thanos

In "The Infinity Gauntlet" I seem to remember Thanos shrinking Hulk and shipping him off to another dimension

Marvels' "galactic entities" were pretty much out of the leauge of any of the Earthly heroes, mostly because I think they were created so people could beleive one villian could fight a group of super heroes.

....Especially someone like Thanos, who always seems to be fighting the entire Marvel universe at once.

this is one of those few times that i agree with my mod quote.

hulk and thor are the strongest beings from earth. they have fought countless times and never have they said who was stronger (as long as thor has his hammer). however, thor has more powers than just strength. he can fire a beam of energy from his hammer, can summon lightning by will, and fly.

and wolverine has killed the hulk, i have the issue but i cant think of it right now, but wolverine stuck his adamantium claws into hulks heart and killed him for a little while, hulk anger while dying helped his induce his healing abilites.

hulk gets stronger the angrier he gets so hes always a wild card, but i put my money on thor in a fight.

as for superman gladiator of the shi'ar empire has all the powers of superman except gladiator fights dirty he fights to win and has no problem killing anyone who opposes the empire.

Thor would knock him the fuck out.

One word..."magic." Thor's power is based from magic, and Supes' bigest weakness besides Kryptonite is magic. Thor would just have to blast Superman with a few of those magic lighting bolts (Remember Captain Marvel doing the same in "Kingdom Come"?) and then could wail on him until he was out. Marvel always called their strongest guys "class 100," in that they could "lift" over a 100 tons, and Thor was always well above that.

I turned my penis in at the door of this thread before coming in. I don't think I'll ever need it again.

I think it'd be pretty f'n close, Hellboy never fucking stopped in that movie and he had his little blue friend give him information on all the mutants he fought, including their weakpoints and skills, so thatd be pretty handy. I don't think Hellboy regenrates though, he's still a spawn of Satan so he has to be pretty tough.

Horse shit. Superman is the most overrated character in all of comics. Fuck Kal-El.

Hulk would kick his ass. Savage Hulk would fucking destroy him, since Supes got his ass handed to him by Doomsday and Savage Hulk could floss his teeth with that lameass.

Thor would, of course, kick Superman's ass so handily that Clark would be pissing blood for years.

And who here said Wolverine beat Hulk? Bullshit. In the last couple years, in the comics, Punisher absolutely DEMOLISHED Logan. You telling me Wolverine can take the Hulk, when he can't even get the best of ol' Frank Castle. Please. I'm a Wolvie fan - but he's the *second* most overrated character in comics.

The Hulk vs Superman has already been fought in Marvel vs DC. Superman won but had to resort to heat vision to weaken the Hulk.

DarkHippie is right. Marvel was playing up his popularity. Wolverine's bones might be laced with adamantium but his organs aren't. the hydrostatic damage from would liquefy Wolverine's organs.

Gotdammit, I geeked it up again!!

Hellboy is strong, but he's nowhere near as strong as the Hulk. At one point, they had the Hulk holding up an entire mountain range by himself, which puts him WAY past Hellboy. One good slug from Hulk would knock Big Red's head clean off his shoulders.

And as dull as Superman is, he WOULD defeat the Hulk...pretty easily, too. The Hulk is pretty damn strong...but Superman can move planets. Hulk compared to Superman is like comparing Hulk to Hellboy...one is REALLY fucking strong...but the other is about 10 times stronger. Toss in the heat vision and flying, and all his "super senses," Superman would have Hulk wraped up in about a page or two.

Strength-wise, the only "non-God" people that could give Superman a run for his money are Thanos, Silver Surfer, Wonder Woman, Thor or Captain Marvel. Yeah, I know Thor and WW are kinda "gods," but I mean like Galactus and up.

question: Say I wanted to get into comic reading. Obviously there are YEARS worth of stories and published issues. Some I am sure are hard to find. How would one go about reading all the old comics to gain more insight into the topic? Are there books publsihed with like a years worth of the comics reprinted in them? Then you would just have to buy like 10 books or something

The trade collection market has REALLY exploded in the last few years, from all the major publishers. Marvel especially has really run with the idea, and has put out tons of their classic titles, either in the "Marvel Masterworks" series (Hardcover, and kinda expensive), or in the "Essential" series, which are big fat B&w books that give you like 20 issues of each character per book. Just head to any bookstore these days and you're likely to find a big graphic novel section full of these books.

Doomsday.

All comes back to him.

EVERY incarnation of the Hulk - even Mr. Fixit - could wipe their ass with Doomsday, and Doomsday is the schmuck to wiped his ass with Supes.

Hulk > Doomsday > Superman.

I don't understand how you're figuring the Hulk is stronger than Doomsday OR Superman. It's like you're just declaring it to be so.

DC has officially established that Doomsday was/is slightly stronger than Superman. Superman, as I said before, has been shown moving entire PLANETS. The most I've ever seen the Hulk "lift" was in the first Secret Wars series, when he hoisted up an entire mountain range on his shoulders. Even though he did it, he was visibly strained, and was only able to maintain it for a few minutes.

So, again, Superman can move planets. The Hulk cannot. If Doomsday is supposedly stronger than Superman, then he's of course by default stronger than the Hulk.

Besides, the fuckin' THING has given the Hulk a run for his money, and the Thing is clearly WAY below Supes in terms of physical power.

Christ, I wanna kick my own ass now.

Superman is the most overrated character in all of comics...I don't know why everyone sucks Superman's cock so much.

Because he's figgin' Superman. The whole point of that superhero is he can do anything. But that is very limiting for a character so they created Kryptonite to have something that can defeat him. Kinda Lame.

That's why many people prefer hero's like Batman (he's just a man!) or Spiderman (he's just a kid!) since they have major flaws like real people but overcome them like superheros.

Yeah, Superman only works in a JLA-type setting. I tried reading his individual titles, and they're dull as snow melting.

Though to back him up in a fight with the Hulk, we've seen Supes take a nuclear blast point blank and live, whereas in the Hulk comics, Bruce Banner himself has said a nuke dropped on the Hulk would wipe him out, and has suggested the military use it on him in some of his more "bleaker" moods.

O.K. My 2 cents. Hulk has to build up anger to get as strong as Supes, but can surpass Supes in shear strength if he is pissed enough. Hulk wins the contest of strength with anyone, because it is defined as without limit. In a betwen Hulk and Supes, Supes wins 9 out of 10 times. I'd still give Hulk a punchers chance. As far as Wolverine goes, I believe his first appearance was in Hulk #181-182, and even though he was considered less powerful then (before Claremont reinvented him) he still gave Hulk a decent run.
P.S- I hope my son doesn't grow up and find this thread.
