The babseball thread got me thinking about this. Obviously Jerry Rice is going. Who else? Is Jerome Bettis going? He's sixth on the all time rushing list now. What about Tim Brown?

i love baseball, and my knowledge of the other sports isn't as strong ...

but there seems to be a huge drop off when it comes to other hall of fames, they don't seem to have the aura or prestige of cooperstown ...

to me it seems like the other sports let too many people in ... would patrick ewing's baseball counterpart (great amatuer career, no rings and all-star career) make it ...?

What about Tim Brown?
Hmmm. That'll be a close call.

Brett Farve would probably make it to the hall of fame, but Mike Vick is definetly going to make it before his career is over.

There's a ton of guys who are out there who will make it. If you think about it though, most of the guys who are in the Hall of Fame probably aren't better than the average player right now. Its hard to predict for some guys who are new (Vick, Tomlinson) so I think we should keep it to people who've been in the league for a while. I'll throw out Sapp (who I hate), Strahan, Will Shields, Orlando Pace, Jonathan Ogden.

Here's one for debate: How about Bryan Cox. True, he was great in Super Troopers as the old Captain, but he had some good moments on the field as well. Won a Super Bowl with the Pats, been around a lot of other successful teams. Does he have enough and how does being hated hurt him?

Offensive and Defensive line guys are tough because there are so few tangible stats for them, especially O line. At least on defense you have sacks.

Testeverde? I don't think so. He's thrown for a ton of yards but he's only had one or two great seasons.

What about Issac Bruce?

And I'm not so sure about Bledsoe.

Curtis Martin will get in.

I think Testaverde will make it unfortunately. His numbers are way up there, due mainly to the fact he's played for a long time. He has a good season once every 5 years or so just to get an extension, then back in the dumper.
