Bunch of great music threads got me thinking [oh dear]. Velvet Revolver; Audioslave, Metallica with Trujillo [is he still in?], stuff like that.

Here's the Deal. What would be the Ultimate Band Reunion Announcement for you? Meaning, using living musicians [so a full Beatles thing aint happening] who would you most like to see re-unite and tour:

-We all know the love/hate Floyd thing. Well, fuck it, I'd love to wake up and hear Waters and Gilmour and Wright and Mason are touring The Wall. Hey it might suck ass in reality, but an example.

-I'd say that 3/4 of a band might make for a reunion. Of course, that begs the next fave love/hate, Zep. Would anyone want a Page/Plant/Jones and maybe Jason Bonham thing? Forget the condition of said players. Maybe page sucks ass now, I have no idea.

So; who wants that Culture Club or Duran Duran reunion? Rage against the Machine with Zach? CSNY? Metallica with Mustaine? Past line-ups of bands like that = cool too.

Creed with Scott Stapp

But seriously folks, I wouldn't want any band to get back together unless they were going to play like they did, if metallica went back to its original line-up it would most likely still sound like the new crap their churning out now.

But if I have to choose:

Jimmies Chicken Shack
The Presidents of the United States of America
At The Drive In

and if I could bring people back from the dead:

Snot
Blind Melon

EDIT: How could I forget the Parliamentary Funk!

<IMG SRC="http://members.aol.com/miketeachr/anisig3">Now that you mention it, I`d go with such a reunion. True, Jimmy is old & ravaged from years of Heroine & Alcohol addiction. Robert can`t hold a freakin` note, Little Bonzo can`t compare with his Dad. John Paul still produces and writes and is probably the only one physically capable.
Granted, times and music has changed drastically and alot of the younger genre can`t stand them. But back in the day, to see this band live was truly remarkable. I`ve seen them at the garden on their last tour as a full band , Jacksonville, Fla., when Jimmy was w/ the Firm, (I also met him personally in the lobby at the Hilton Hotel in Jacksonville) and at Giants Stadium for the Page/ Plant tour. Live Aid also, for which they truly sucked but noone gave a rats ass. The place was just happy to see Musical Einsteins.

i'm gonna have to go with the Lynyrd Skynyrd line-up with Steve Gaines in it. Make Freebird jokes all you want, but they did some great music.

And; canofsoup15,

Im pissed I never got to see Alice In Chains live. If they ever find a way to ressurect the dead they should start with Layne Staley.

probably Soundgarden or Scepultura. It's too early to say Fear Factory with Dino again, I actually really like thier new stuff without him. Also Kilgore (smudge); I really wanted to see them live, but thier singer quit and they realized they had no band without him.

oh, and Faith no More with Patton and Jim Martin.

The original DURAN DURAN line-up DID reunite. They are finishing their first record in 20 years right now. I think it comes out in November. They just sold sold out 5 nights at Wembly Arena! I think they will play MSG early next year.

DEF LEPPARD should reunite with Mutt Lange. So should THE CARS.

DAVID LEE ROTH should get back with his "Eat 'em and Smile" band. Eddie aint calling him anytime soon.

The 2 remaining Beatles and Pete Best (Two drummers and the Bass player will sound great)

I guess Eric Clapton can fill in for George.

I'd love to see PINK FLOYD back, but Gilmour said he's semi-retired.

The 5 man GENESIS (Gabriel, Collins, Hackett, Banks, Rutherford) would be interesting, and actully possible. They are all still friends.

Mine wouldn't be so much a reunion as as it would be a lineup change.

The Stones: bring back Mick Taylor, move Woody to bass, and start doing some acoustic, bluesy shit again.

True, Jimmy is old & ravaged from years of Heroine & Alcohol addiction. Robert can`t hold a freakin` note,

I saw the Page/Plant tour a few years ago and Jimmy can still play. Plant's voice can't hit the old high notes however.

That would be great, especially if they played a bunch of stuff off of beggars banquet, sticky fingers, and exile.

I would love to see a zep reunion as long as they dont fuck up the songs like they did on that unplugged special. Yes Robert and Jimmy I know you love the middle eastern sound but I do not wan to hear it.

What no Nirvana yet? Everybody heard that You Know You're Right song and figured they were headed for medicority?

I like the idea of Soundgarden and The Police.

Helmet is one of my favorites, but they have actually gotten back together (but without Stanier on drums, though).

And Can--Jimi's Chicken Shack is back together. I think they may be recording a new album and they played the HFStival Local Stage back in May.

i tried to keep my list to among the living, but i would love nothing more than to see nirvana again ...

i thought 'you know you're right' was a great song, i always wondered what cobain would sound like ten years later ...

but he's dead

if we're resurrecting the dead, let's have the 'kind of blue' session players: miles davis, john coltrane and bill evans

They are still playing, but their original line-up got fucked over by the record label and I know the guitarist and bassist aren't in it anymore, I don't even think the drummer made it, the singer is the same and with three new guys, but it's just not as solid as it was.

And while were on the topic of Mike Patton, I would love to see Mr. Bungle get back together to make an album. They aren't officially broken up, but there's been rumors about not getting along and Patton being crazy busy.
