i like the concept that he might be the last to ever accomplish such a feat ...
with the advent of 5 man rotation, and overspecialized relief systems he might be the last ...
as hitting benchmarks rise, we might need to lower the ones for pitching to detemine greatness ...

WHOOP-WHOOP!
That was a great game today. Cubs came from behind to end up 8-4 against the Giants.

There's an artcle on espn.com talking about if anyone else can do it. It goes into young pitchers and if the avereage 15 wins a year how many they'll wind up with. Then it cautions:
But it would be wise to heed the lesson of Dwight Gooden. He'd won 120 games by age 25 -- 45 more than Maddux, 42 more than Clemens, 63 more than Carlton. Gooden had more wins at 25, in fact, than Zito and Mulder combined.
So who had a brighter future than Dwight Gooden? But there were so many detours on his highway, Gooden never even reached 200 wins, let alone 300.
I guess Rick James was right. Cocaine is a hell of a drug.
