OK... um, there's a clamor for non-Steve Perry Journey coverbands?
Isn't that like seeing a Kiss Coverband who performs exclusively without the makeup?
And need I point out that in the "Steve Perry Era", it produced the "Separate Ways" music video, that had all the members of Journey playing AIR INSTRUMENTS?!?! (air guitar, air drums, AIR FUCKING SYNTHESIZER!!!!)

Strangely, I was thinking exactly the same thing. Are there a lot of non-Steve Perry era Journey tribute bands?

My Mom loves Steve Perry, which makes me even less interested in the band Journey than i had ever imagined possible.

Wasn't that just a KISS coverband that toured through here a few months back? Oh no, that WAS KISS.
Who else would have remembered the separate ways video?
BUT Do you remember the Chain Reaction video? I still cannot play checkers without breaking out into a cold sweat.

Not too sure if you ever saw the Behind The Music on Journey but he said something to the effect that he never felt like he was part of the group cause he joined them 3 albums in (which were all KILLER instrumental albums I believe) and always felt like an "outsider". STILL that sound pretty cheesy because he sure looked like the leader of the group during those magical years.

About a month ago I saw a Journey tribute band called Frontiers down here. There were people that followed these guys around like they were The Dead.

The new version of Journey pulled a Judas Priest/Steel Dragon and replaced Steve Perry with a guy that sounds EXACTLY like him.
No word on the power mullet or the cheesey porn mustache, though.
What would happen if Steve Perry, Joe Perry and Perry Farrell made their own band?

They'd have to find a way to work William Perry into it

Laird is one of the funniest assholes I've ever had the pleasure to hang with, but he was never the lead singer of the Journey tributes, just Joshua Tree.

How can we fit in Linda Perry's insipid "indie-yodeling?"
Journey makes me want to experience the "Bullet In The - Era" of my brain.

I saw Journey open for the Stones way back in 81' i think' i like alot of their songs. They have a kickass guitar player. But you can only take so much of Perry's voice.
saw a cover band named Revolver at a house party in Edison about 13 years ago, they did almost all Journey with a few Beatles tunes mixed in... they were very good
