So the Nets management has turned me off to the whole team. That may not be fair but I'm just annoyed at how they're dealing the players away. Let me say that I was only a Nets fan simply because they are a Jersey team. I've never been a huge NBA fan but I'm a sports fan so I had to have a favorite team. For a long time it was the Bulls. I was in LOVE with MJ. He was my first celebrity crush and I used to joke around and call him my husband, so after he retired (for the 100th time) I had no team to root for anymore.

Being the good Jersey girl that I am I adopted the Nets, that is until this summer. Well, now that I live in Dallas, the Mavericks are looking better and better. This will be the one sport I change teams in because I was raised to root for the Yankees, Devils and Giants (I love all of these teams deeply) so it makes me sad that I'm giving up on my Jersey team but you know what, SCREW them. If they want to move to Brooklyn that's fine with me..they're just one more team for Dallas to beat. GO MAVS!

And who knows, maybe Kidd will be playing for them again soon.

are you just in dallas for school, or are you fully transplanted there? if its just for school, it'd be harder to follow them when you graduate.

regardless, this current nets organization doesnt deserve your loyalty. the mavs organization does. cuban might be a plump and somewhat annoying geek, but he does what he can to win.

but doesnt the giants fan in you kinda loathe rooting for any team from dallas?

if you're not spending money on the team then there is no reason why u shouldnt love them. im a mets fan my team sucks i wont spend money on them but i still love them. same thing witht he knicks i love my knicks but theys uck. ill watch the game on tv but i wont go to the garden. if you're changing teams just cause they suck then you are classified as a front runner

Keep the faith. You gotta believe. So what if the NETS aren't good anymore. If you were a fan before they got good, most likely you'll still stay with them. Oh well, there'll be more room on the bandwagon now that all the bandwagon-jumpers jump off the bandwagon after 3 good years. N-E-T-S.....NETS....NETS....NETS!!!

We don't need anymore fairweather bandwagon Net fans, we have enough. Us loyal fans that have wept through the Drazen death, the Derrick "Whoop de damn do" and Kenny Anderson beating up his wife say good riddance to bad rubbish.

your owner just let your 2nd best player go for nothing, then traded a very decent player for a 2nd rounder. yeah, we all know those 2nd rounders are pure gold.

the team got gutted, will move, and its all about money. rattner's a real estate guy, and he's just in this for the money. he doesnt deserve you going to the games, or even watching them. watching a game on tv is still money in his pocket. and thats where it stays.

i'd say under those circumstances, its time to move on. if you're still a fan, good for you. but this is a legitimate situation to bail. and she's considering dallas, where she lives. its not like she's picking detroit, or even san antonio.

I was down here for school originally, then I met a boy and I ended up staying here and have been in Texas since '96. So, yeah, I plan on being here for awhile.

And yes, Schmega, being a Giants fan it's REALLY hard to think about rooting for a Dallas team.

It's funny you say that since my dad said being a Cowboys fan is the ONLY situation where he would disown me. I can a drugged up crack whore and he'd still love me, but becoming a Cowboys fan would make me an orphan. But he has nothing to worry about. I despise them as much as the Sox.

Anyone who has to announce they are not a tool, certainly IS one in my book. You can have your Nets.

if you want to be a dallas fan thats fine. i am. i root for dallas when they play any team except my knicks. and owners come and go, its the fans that remain through all the bullshit. and when you finally grab the brass ring its all the more sweeter. its easy to root for a team when they win.

Aggie, by all means, run along to grab yourself a Mavs Jersey. They'll win.....never. No defense.

Sorry you couldn't hack it in the Tri-State area.

PS If we are going with your method of board names, yours would be Iamnotatwat. ;)
