In the course of a recording session I usually went through enough carrots to fill several.

Does anyone know of any film clips of Mel Blanc in-studio doing any of the hundreds (thousands?) of 'toon voices he did? The guy could just lay them out there left and right, yet I simply cannot put any of THOSE voices with THAT face.

I know this isn't Mel, but it's still a great anecdote...

Daws Butler was in studio one day laying tracks for a Hopalong cartoon when the director stopped recording to complain that all the characters were talking over each other. What the director didn't realize was that Daws was doing all the voices at the time.
