So I've been watching this new show on HBO and so far this season it's only 3 episodes deep. I think it's produced or directed or something of that nature by Mark Walberg (sp?). Anyway, I love this show. It's not all that funny, it's not exceptionally well written, and there's a serious lack of nudity.......but there's something about the show that just grabs my attention. I think it's the fact that the show is based around 4 single guys who are around my age just ballin' out in Hollywood (the main character is an up and comming hot actor in Hollywood) living the good life, smoking weed, bangin hot chicks, etc. Has anyone else seen this show? What do you all think? I think it's got some serious potential.

I watched 15 minutes of the first episode and couldn't watch any more. It's horrible. I give almost any show 2 episodes but I don't feel like punishing myself this time.

Yeah, I accidentally caught like 5 minutes of it after watching Ali G and I had to turn it off. Unbearably bad.

Fuck no. This show is hilarious. People should watch it just for Jeremy Piven's character alone.

I like the show too. It has some decent humor, and more importantly gives a little mocking glimpse into some of the hollywood living that goes on out there.

Plus they were smart to keep the show at 30 minutes. Just enough to carry a few scenes without wearing out its welcome.

Yeah I like it. Pretty funny too. And Jeremy Piven is such a world class asshole you can't help but love the guy. The only turn off is how much it really makes me hate the celebrity lifestyle and the riches and fame. It is kind of cool though that these 3 jerk-offs from The Bronx "make it" vicariously through their friend. I am really looking forward to seeing some drug addictions and excessive lifestyle and then the ultimate bottoming out of Vincent's career. I also read that this show is loosely based on Mark Wahlberg's life. Hence him being the director.

I am also extremely guilty of the belly laughs when the "I Love Cock" bumper sticker was put on Turtle's Hummer.

[color=purple]I'm liking this show a lot. The casting is perfect and the writing is very well done. Sorta like a 20'something Larry Sander's Show.

Kevin Dillion as an actor living in the shadow of his more famous brother. Nice. And the dude who plays Eric (Kevin Connolly) couldn't be more right for the part. I remember when he was on "Unhappily Ever After," and always thought the kid had chops. Kinda funny how, in ep 2, he's sharing screentime with David Faustino (Bud Bundy, on whom his Unhappily... character was obviously inspired).

Okay, maybe it's not kinda funny. But it's something. Interesting? Ironic?

Yeah, I know people think it's good. Personally, I can't stand it. It's raping everything I love about Westerns, a movie/TV genre I hold dear to my heart. And I'm not some kind of sissy purist...I think Leone and Peckinpah (And toss in Eastwood's "Unforgiven") made some of the greatest movies ever made, PERIOD, using that genre, and they TOTALLY revised the "classic" sense of the Western and were brutal as fuck. "Deadwood," and I'm not even sure why, just seem to fall totally flat on its face, much like "Carnivale." I've only seen the first three episodes of each, so maybe I'm missing something, but neither show did anything for me.

And a slew of Emmies isn't necessarily a good thing. "West Wing" is still getting a ton of nominations, and that show has been dreck for a good three seasons now.

I really enjoy the show. It's got good pacing, smart writing, and the characters are all interesting.

And Marky Mark is producing the show, not directing it.

There is a marathon of the first three episodes on Friday night, for those of you who haven't been watching it.

1) At least Dream On had nudity.
2) Arli$$ had its moments in the first season, but overstayed its welcome after that. Just boring and repetative.
3) We never said it was an artistic masterpiece, we just said it was enjoyable to watch. Not like there's anything else on on a sunday night at 10.

I watched this show for the first time last night and I happened to like it. I think it was either the third or forth show in the series and now I want to see the first episodes. I thought the writing was very good and like TheGame first wrote about these single guys doing all these things I agree. In a weird way it felt like I was hangin out with some of my friends.

I just moved down to Florida last week and since then I haven't had HBO. I've been dying to see the last episode and all the Yankees games, I'm missing out here. I have no idea what I'm gonna do. Law school is already killing my quality TV watching time.

Yeah its been very good. I'm glad they are giving Debbie Mazar a bigger role.On
a side note, HBO On Demand kicks ass. They put the show up every Sunday
night. So I can watch my Family Guy, American Dad and then Entourage.

I just loved Johnny Drama telling Bai Ling (who was in the Crow) that he was in the crow in some real bit part.And it's pretty damn cool that James Cameron is actually in next week's ep.

This show is just great, it sucks that its only a 1/2 hour show. By far Ari Gold and Turtle make the show. Kevin Dillon gets a little old sometimes. Every single episode he compares his past career to what his brother is going through now. Like they are similar careers, not even close. But this show is great."Lets Hug It Out, Bitch"

I do like the show a lot but the one thing that bothers me is the name dropping and the ridiculous cameos.A few weeks ago Anthony Anderson and this week that lame porno chick.And a few weeks ago mentioning that they were staying in Jessica Alba's house.No need for that.It's turning into the Love Boat/Fantasy Island.Next thing you know Barbie Benton and Sid Ceaser are gonna show up.Debi Mazur actually had a few good lines yesterday at Drama's expense.

Yeah, that bothers me too that a show set in Hollywood and the surronding areas and is about the entertainment industry is actually going to have cameos by **Gasp** people in the entertainment industry it is just like Arli$$ if he does not meet up with these people how believable is the show that is supposed to be about entertainment having no entertainers.  And if those are your complaints about the show seems very very minor and extremely picky to me.Maybe they can have the next shows setting be in Duluth Minnesota where they meet the guy on the street to be guest stars

Yeah those cameos by Spike Lee and Woody Allen always made NYPD Blue such a great show.I don't see Bruce Springsteen in the Sopranos every other week.So I guess TV isnt as geographically specific as you think.I have no problem with James Cameron but don't give me the C-list of Anthony Anderson and Jesse Jane.Vanessa Angel worked because she's a walking talking mirror image of the Drama character.

The constant name dropping bothers me a little bit too, but my girlfriend and I decided to make it fun. We now play the Entourage drinking game, every time a famous name gets dropped, you take a drink. I never realized how many times they can say the name Mandy in one episode. On a side note last night's episode was the worst episode I've ever seen. It wasn't horrible, it just didn't say anything. All they did was once again toss around the "will Vince be cool working with Mandy" angle.

Of course it didn't say anything, it was a Johnny Drama episode. 
There have been a couple episodes this season that focus on other
people than Vince, but the overall story of the show is Vince's story.

Personally, i thought it was a great episode. it showed alot of the
promo bullshit that these people go through and dont want to do, plus
the pornstar thing was classic. Perfect use of them. the whole thing

I thought the past three episodes prior to tonights (ep. 21) were pretty weak. i dont like how there was one love heavy story line with Vince and E, and another story line going with Turtle and Drama acting basically as a comic relief duo. The writing seemed lazy and the characters one dimensional. Like we know Ari is a dick, but it seemed a bit much for him to yell Got Milf during his run. And we know theres tension between E and Ari, but why the fuck would E send Ari to Napa. Thats just fucked up. I was hoping that the past 3 episodes were setting up characters and story lines for the final 2 episodes and it seems like they were. Tonights episode was pretty intense, and pretty awesome, and one of my favorites of the season. Left a lot open for the finale. Crazy shit man, cant wait. 

Oh. Man. Pom Pom, you've gotta check this out.

Great Season Overall.  Last nights finale was good, but pretty
much expected.  If Vince didn't do Aquaman, they'd have a shitload
of stuff they couldn't pay for. 
I really enjoyed the show's ability to switch from comedy to drama, especially in the last 2 episodes.Can't wait for Season 3!

For historical reasons.  So someone may someday write the epic story of our lives.Actually, they're kept available for people to check back, quote if they need to, or bring back if they have a real reason to do so.  It would be one thing if this thread had said which season it's about, but it's called "Entourage"...in the entertainment forum.  There's zero reason to start a new one.  Like it was said, if this gets too big, we'll start a new one.It's not like we lock EVERYTHING.  I always forget about old friends...I tend to lock duplicates only because a non-mod poster will link the old one.

I was actually really worried about that. About 30 minutes before the show, I was watching last season's finale on demand, even though I've seen em all like 40 times. Anyway it just made me start to worry about how the show was so good, what if its just a decent season, and it ruins it all. Fortunately, after watching the first episode, I actually feel this season will be better then the first 2. Though James Woods kicks fuckin ass, I was a little dissapointed to see he aged enough that Doug Collins no longer looks like his twin.

Its been my favorite show since i first started watching, and being how TV usually, i am still always worried when shows i like that much go past where they were originally written. Entourage first 2 seasons were written as once, and, unlike david chase, they are following things up wonderfully.

I just hate the fact that HBO is so casual about their succesful shows and you may not know that the show isnt coming back.Like w/ Deadwood. They're in their 3rd season and its a great show but alas it'll be over at the end of this season with the exception of 2 2-hour movies next year.They wanna use their writers on some new show about surfing.So instead of keeping a succesful show going they wanna try and make another one that'll probably flop.

Dom presents the only real CONFLICT the show has ever seen.  I don't like his character because he makes the audience uncomfortable.  I love entourage because it is a good time show...everything is all good.  I get to enjoy the great music in the show and imagine how cool it would be to be one of these guys.  Dom must go- awful characterization...he doesn't fit the overall theme/feel of the show

Entourage is garbage. Maybe it's just me, but I think drama comes from conflict, and the only conflict Vince seems to have is where to spend his oodles of cash. Give me a fucking break. Ducati's for all? You greedy motherfucker, why don't you help out the neighborhood you so fondly recollect? Vince is a piece of garbage. I respect Turtle and Drama, they at least have the honesty to admit they're along for the ride and using Vince for his cash. Yes, I know they're all friends, but I have friends too, and they don't fight over who fucking drives me or cooks my eggs. E is an enigma to me, I really feel he's trying to make a career of it and would walk away feeilng happy if everything fell apart. He doesn't seem to be cash whores like the rest o them. I actually like him as a character a lot.Understand what these people are and you realize the guys you like are really not very good people at all. Dom is exactly what they deserve.

Charities seem to take the money you donate and pay themselves a crazy amount of money, pay for cars, rent their offices, etc and a small % actually goes to the people that need it. I would give to people I know personaly and give them and buy them stuff and those who I know that need it. I would also go to poor schools and buy them what they need. This way I know every penny I give goes to who I want to get it, not someone making a living off of other peoples misery.

The Ferrari Enzo costs over $100,000, gets 8 miles a gallon, seats two, and has some of the lowest EPA ratings ever metered for a high performance luxury sports car. It is an utterly superfluous purchase, but if you want to tool around in car that costs more than a small house and gets the same gas mileage as an M1 Abrams tank, that's your business. I only recently got into this show with some replays of last season, so I have a couple of questions. First, what exactly did Ari do to piss off Malcolm McDowell's character and got him fired? Second, what exactly does Ari's wife do that she has so much money that she is supporting them?  As for classic lines, two shows ago when Ari had to find Drama a job and said to his staff "I don't care if it's a part with him being gang raped by a bunch of Silverback Gorillas" I was hysterical. Piven is comedy gold!

As for classic lines, two shows ago when Ari had to find Drama a job and said to his staff "I don't care if it's a part with him being gang raped by a bunch of Silverback Gorillas" I was hysterical. I think the baby blanket buisness was just a way of showing Ari that he knew the space was for his firm since his wife did not work.  Ari's wife used to be an actress and now does not work. she had a trust fund from her dad in case Ari left her. when he has fired, she was givign him money from it.

I know this is very nitpicky but, does anyone here find it unrealistic that Vincent is always able to just walk around normally?  Sometimes they show some girls do a double take when they pass him in the hallway or something but, for the most part, he is left alone.He's supposed to be one of the biggest movie stars in the world.  Aquaman is/was MASSIVE.  He should be getting mobbed like Leo or, at the very least, Matt Damon.  Everytime they show him just walking around on the street or in a store, I expect a riot. Anyone?Anyone?

I disagree. In my opinion, the beauty of that line is that it's semi-obscure.  And...that it's a reference made BY an actor ABOUT an artist that was the subject of a major motion picture.  As if to say...the only culture he gets is from hollywood.
