The only part about Dom i liked were his cheeseballs, bro...

Yeah, when I got my friends into Entourage, and Dom showed up... half of them were like, if this guy's gonna stay on the show, we're done here. I was like, don't worry, it's quick, albeit not painless.

I think there were rumors that Dom is coming back this season. I hope it's not true, but you never know, it might happen.

Overall, an average premiere. Not as good as last season, but passable. It was needed to set up the storyline for the season, and hopefully the show can hit full stride next week.

2 days after i watch every episode and then try and explain it to someone i feel the same way. you can literally sum up a whole season of entourage in less time then 1 episode of Lost.

its not a bad show..it really isn't. and i am one of these people that think Drama is the best character..i like him better than Jeremy Piven

i think its just the plot of it all. Aquaman the highest grossing movie, but jake gyllenhaal is the sequel? They would find that makeup in mediallan passable? A big budget movie like that with a big star, they would just put it on straight-to-dvd?

I dunno.

there should never be a debate about the fact that Piven is absolutely the best character on that show..........unless someone wants to argue Lloyd. But half the reason Lloyd rules so much is because of Piven. So to answer your question...yes, youre the only person that likes Drama better than Ari.

Yeah, I hated the Medellin storyling, the Anna Faris storyline, etc.

There were good parts though - Harvey Weingard, Day Fuckers(furry sex) some other stuff I'm blanking on.

Is it believable? Not always, but it's an enjoyable look at a slightly satirical version of Hollywood.

here is a little spoiler I found out about someone here at work found out at the entourage premiere

She interviewed teh Dom character, and apparently he will make a 1 episode appearance, and it will be a total 180 from his character before. And appareantly he did not go back to Queens. He stayed back in Hollywood and started his won career. Also, Vince is going to have a hard time getting back on that horse. he is gnna hit bottom

I know it's HB and they wanna squeeze in some titties because they can, but goddamn, that sex scene was the queerest looking Skinemax shit I've ever seen. Reverse cowgirl with the girl basically sitting on his thighs and a sheet obviously between them with a fruiy veil (alright, bug screen, it still looked ridiculous) covering the bed? Weak sauce, Vince.

And what the fuck kind of resort or hideaway were they at? A bunch of multinational girls who know how to cook and fish and shit just hanging out on a beach in the middle of nowhere in Mexico? And DRAMA was the one that told them about it?

I wonder if the schmuck who plays Vince knows that he plays a bigger star than he can ever possibly hope to be.

JimBeam

Those are the things that bother me about the show.

They act like Vince is THE actor in their version of Hollywood.

In real Hollywood there are MANY of those so it wouldn't be like a girl hanigng all over Vince if Dicaprio and Pitt were there.

I'm hoping for a real dark turn of events maybe where Turtke gets cancer and dies.

That'd really put this show back in my graces.

The resort thing is bullshit. And the sex scene was pretty bad, but the show wasnt nearly as bad as I expected. When I heard they were going with the didnt wanna act again angle to start the season, i figured it would be really horrible

Mojo the more you get to complaining about it the more I get fired up.

I watch it w/ my wife and she hates that I always criticize everything but to Mojo's point it's been the same f-ing thing for the entire run.

Why would those girls on the island wanna bang Vinny, let alone that fat piece of shit Turtle, if they weren't getting anything out of it ?

In the " real world " chicks can expect to get wined/dined/high and totally take advantage of Vinny's money in exchange for sex.

On that island they get what ? To sleep in a hammock w/ him ?

Again shenanigans !!

It is something I can't turn away from though.

Racking in a 1.0 rating/2 share in the 18- to 49-year-old demographic, “Entourage” slipped 29% from last June’s premiere, a low not seen since July 2005. The episode brought in 1.6 million viewers.

Easily, there will always be starfuckers, and friends of theirs who will fuck the less attractive friend of the star so that their friend can fuck the star.

I remember reading an article where a reporter was following Dave Navarro around for a while on tour, and at a random gas station a girl saw him and asked him if she could "please" suck his dick, he said sure whatever, as he was coked out of his mind... and this was before he got even more mainstream famous from being Electra's boyfriend. Never underestimate how easily it is for some to get action.

But with that, it's still an exaggerated turn of events, but half of what this show is seems to be making you wish you were that famous, if only to get to do the things they do.

I'm not saying chicks wouldn't want to bang Vince...I'm saying it's ridiculous that there were all these commando survial-trained models from around the world just randomly on a beach in Mexico (which Drama somehow already knew about to send his brother to, implying these chicks just hang out and live on a beach) where it apparently cost Vince less than a hundred bucks a day. What the fuck? He's basically got no money, yet all that shit clearly would have cost serious cash.

The guys was apparently only using Vince to leverage another actor.

He had no intentions of giving him the part as he just wanted the agent of the guy they did want to see them talking to other actors hoping to bring down that guys price.

So Johnny found where the guy lived and smashed his window as payback.

Okay, I understand that Ari, who appears to have a very successful agency now, would have loyalty to Vince, given their history. What I don't understand is why Ari would be nervous to talk to an unemployable actor who comes storming into his offices. I guess it's Ari's sense of obligation, but it appears that none of the missteps and bad luck that put Vince where he is are attributable to Ari. At this point Vince should have zero clout. I can't see him running Ari into a tizzy with an unannounced visit.

Maybe I'm missing something.

Ari spent alot of money and took alot of risk on Vinny. And Vinny was the one big guy who was with him the whole time after Ari was forced out of the first agency. Thats kinda like Ari's big time thing. he explained a while back that he had tons of clients, but he never took anyone from nothing to the top. He got vince when he was doing shitty commercials and built him. Plus he thought he was getting fired cause he thought E cried to Vince

So Vince finally knows what we the viewer has known from episode one.

FWIW Ari does not pull off knowing how to play golf in any reasonable way. His swing sucks, the grip address awful, his putting in his office looks like he was at mini golf for the first time. Making sports on TV and film look real is very tough to pull off. The guy he was playing golf with he had a sweet swing though.

If i remember, E wanted Vinny to do the sequel to Aquaman, but Vinny Refused. And Vinny is the one who got up at the press conference and shit on the movie studio. I say a lot of the fault would ultimately belong to his publicist, who we have not seen since like season 3 i think

For the most part the episode sucked but it did have some OK stuff.

Points scored for Ari being honest w/ Vinny.

Points lost for more than 1 minute of Turtle and for having the stones to make us believe he actually scored a chick on his own.

Points lost for going from Drama's In Love to Vinny's In Love ( or at least that's the way it seems now ).

Now Vinny's the star-f'er ?

The other girl was 10 times hotter than the one he wanted to be with and it seems like he only wante to be with her because she was sorta famous.

Points lost for Wahlberg just wanting to get himself in the show after 5 seasons. They could've come up w/ a better way for him to make his appearance.

I also wanna know who that French chick hooked up with in real life to get herself more than 2 minutes of airtime in more than 1 episode.

Now Vinny's the star-f'er ?

The other girl was 10 times hotter than the one he wanted to be with and it seems like he only wante to be with her because she was sorta famous.

Ari wanted him to act like a movie stat. He's considered damaged goods in Hollywood right now, so he has to get out there in public, what better way than to be seen than dating one of the hot starlets.

Points lost for Wahlberg just wanting to get himself in the show after 5 seasons. They could've come up w/ a better way for him to make his appearance.

I think he was on the show once. He was just walking down the street with his entourage, and he bumped into the boys.

There really wasn't anything unbelievable about it. In fact it's one of the more believable things on the show. Frank Sinatra sold a shitload of CDs selling his "Duets" albums, where he was doing duets with random contemporary people. Tony Bennett put out a similar album of duets a couple of years ago. That kind of thing actually does sell.

I understand that Apple pays them, that is why you can clearly see the Apple logo (everyone's desk is wide open, facing the door, which is glass if they even have a door. And the logo isn't blacked out like on some shows)

I am just saying why have the same exact model computer all over town? Apple has a full line of computers (well maybe not a FULL line, but they have others) why not have some people using MacBooks, some using Mac Pros, some using the MacBook Pro or Air. Mix it up so it's not so obvious! I guess because there were so many offices this week (Miller/Gold, Shawna, Amanda, Davies) Looks like Marvin (Vince's business manager) had a PC, because he's all about money can't have such a creative computer like a Mac?

Again, and I'm nitpicking here as I know this is how the show does it, but why in the world would the manager, never was a star brother and the fat loser friend of the guy you paid to sing at your daughter's party be allowed to come to the party ?

The iMac is flashy and slim and pretty. Also the one machine most used in situations where you don't need a great deal of horse power. I have also seen the Macbook on the show a few times.

It would be kind of a waste of money for an agency to spend up to $2900 bucks to do email on. That would be your only real look option. Even though the Mac Pro is sexy inside you really don't get the curb appeal that an iMac or a Macbook gives you. Also the Mini is too small to really add any branding to the scene.

I was not asking the question from a practical viewpoint. I know that if you're getting a Mac for an office and you're really just checking eMail, calendar and internet, listening to music and watching movies (which is something they would do for work at a talent agency) than the iMac is perfect for desktops. So that would be a great choice.

My point was that it's obvious that they are using the same computers for all the office sets on the show, that episode had them going to multiple offices and it really hit me that they all have the exact same computer, they all look like the same size iMac as well.

Even for a fluffy show like this, I would think they would want to make things look real, and I'm sure if you go from office to office in LA you will not see the exact same computer everywhere you turn. And again I know Apple is paying for the product placement, wouldn't they want more of their products shown (other than the iPhone Vinnie was using)

It's just a way for them to put random stars in the show.

Yeah I'm sure every porn star knows Johnny Drama and Turtle just because Vince is famous.

He was essentially playing the same character that Gary Busey plays on the show.

That's the character. Vinny thinks he's Ed Norton, when he's in fact "Marky Mark" Wahlber of "Planet of the Apes" remake fame. So Vince is trying to prove to everyone, Eric and Ari most of all, that he's a good actor. And you can't claim to be a good actor by doing Benji movies. That's the whole point about Vince - he wants to be an actor, not a movie star.

I think the job Ari gets offered is head of Warners. He would have to leave the agency to take it, and thats why he can put Vince in the movie if he takes it. Since Dana Gordon doesn't work there anymore, and Allen is dead, he doesn't have any real enemies anymore. dont know what other job it could be.
However, I think Ari's tough thing comes on the fact that he thinks Vince is a shitty actor. He will work to put him in jobs, but he doesn't want him in a movie that will now effect his own job. Based on the show being the show and him being in it, I can't see him taking the job. And I see him fuckin up Vince's shot at the movie because he doesn't take the job. And then Vince does Benji

Yeah, Piven's theater-trained overacting really makes the character that much more colorful. If his frustration was more subdued/realistic, it wouldn't be as entertaining.

I was really hating this show over the last two seasons, but I'm actually digging this season a bit.

I like where they're going with Vince's career.

The Ari taking over the studio thing could be interesting. Snoogans prediction could come true. I remember at the beginning of the season when Vince asked Ari if Ari believed he was a good actor, and he wouldn't answer the question.

Ultimately, though, I don't really think he's going to get the job.

Jeffery Tambor cameo tonight was priceless.

Ari under no circumstance would reject this job.

Vince should and would be thrilled that Ari got the job. His biggest supporter in the industry would be in a position to make his career more than he ever dreamed.

My guess is Ari signs on ... E replaces Ari in "Miller-Gold".

Ari needs to take this job, in reality I doubt he would ever give it up.

And Vince can still be repped by Ari's company, or E can just take over as his representation

Holy shit, this sounds so fucking dumb.

As per The Onion's recap:

This is where Ari breaks the big news to Vince, who instead of congratulating him and fully expecting him to take the job without hesitation, says, “I think I’d like us to finish what we started together.” And then, no joke, Radiohead’s “Fake Plastic Trees” plays as Vince looks wistfully at Ari. Even though he’s in a private plane full of models, headed to Hawaii.

This is all because we’re supposed to believe that Ari not repping Vince anymore is going to be the end of Vince’s career. Haven’t we spent this whole season talking about how Vince’s career is in the shitter anyway? He’s gonna turn down a dream job to maybe revive the flagging career of his favorite client? That seems about as likely as Turtle turning down a hummer from one of those gigantic models. But I guess we’ll find out next week. I hope Ari takes the job, if only to kick the show in the pants.

The bolded part sounds so goddamn embarassing.

I think they were hinting at Eric's success with the model last night. She heard he was successful etc...

It actually would make some sense - everything is who you know - and Eric obviously knows Ari - and Ari obviously has to like his effort and his ability to read a script and pick something good. I know they have issues but who doesn't Ari have issues with.

The next thing is while a client can take you far in that industry - its what you build from that client that defines your career. I would welcome the next change of the show to be how E took his time in the Vince Entourage and made something out of it... something he would have to be more than just Vince's friend to establish. Good or bad I think that is where this is heading.

i think the model just talked to E cause she saw he was with Vince, and she knew who vince was.

BTW, I can not believe that vince would turn down a million bucks on principal when he is so broke.

Not the whole time... but when they were going back and forth showing Ari and Mrs. Ari, for like 3 seconds she was holding it upside down. It wasn't while she was talking... So I'm guessing it's the editor's mistake for using that shot.

The German's right...Vince can't act.

The Smoke Jumpers scene was horrible.

They also got their annual Kevin Smith joke in to this week's episode. Doug Ellin is still pissed about the Shannon Doherty thing?

This will go one of two ways.

The way it should go is that Vince and Eric have a big blowout over this last ditch effort to salvage his career, and at the end, Vince decides he's staying in New York, while Eric goes back to LA and his management business, Drama goes back as well to work on his show, and Turtle goes with Drama.

Then you pick it up next season where Vince is doing New York theater productions, when Eric gets a call from a director who wants Vince to try out for a role.

Of course, if Entourage holds to form (and it usually does), it'll be almost exactly like the end of Season 2 where it looks like everyone is going to split, and then something magically comes through at the last second and everything ends up all right.

I'd bet on the latter.

1: Dana would never be fired that quickly. The producer would be fired, not Dana. The producer would be raked over the coals... Dana is four levels too high for what just happened in that episode last week.

2: Turtle either did the coolest thing ever by sticking with his boys, or the stupidest thing ever by ditching a future.

3: Am I the only one who doesn't get the Gary Cole angle at all?

4: Vince trying to do Broadway wouldn't be a shocking ending to this season...

Maybe Vince will continue his free fall and be forced to go through Andrew Klein to set up a TV gig. Maybe it's to set up some additional conflict at the agency. Maybe at the end of this season, Vince will become jaded with the industry, and will give up on Hollywood and return to NY. Then the show will return as "Miller Gold", following the exploits of Ari, Babs, Lloyd and Andrew Klein. I wouldn't mind that last one because I find myself caring less and less about Vince with each episode.

I can even buy Van Zant passing it on to Scorsese. But Scorsese offering him the LEAD is just dump and poor writing. A strong character part in the biggest director alive's next film would have been perfect. The exact kind of springboard that a comeback next season would have supported. The lead is too much.

Why do you keep watching it?

I keep watching it because I hate myself.

And on a finer point, The Great Gatsby? Seriously? Vince, as Nick, the lead in THE American novel directed by THE American director?

if someone said "I like watching Entourage because its fun, escapist, fast food tv" thats fair enough. I can understand watching "Entourage" the same why I watch VH1 Reality show.

but it is not a smart show. it is sooooooooooooooooooo stupid. i can't imagine anyone defending it at this point as an example of the high calibur of the history of HBO shows. After the season finale...i really really don't know if i'll be back next year. I guess its a good thing HBO has such a long break between their shows cuz it will give me a chance to forget this season

yeah, Vince had to deal with conflict in his life for 5 WHOLE MINUTES!

The first time hes shown any emotional range in 5 seasons is when he threw the cell phone and yelled FUCK.

And everyone is happy and walking together down the street.... fade to credits.

This show sucks:wallbash:
