Ive used this tuff once and didnt have a huge fear of it. Today I wanted to use it in my pool for this rust stain I cant seem to get rid of. The pool place told me to pour some into a PVC pipe and let it slowly drip down to the stain. As soon as I opened it, I saw these heavy vapors comming from it. I just figured that since its been sitting in the garage for a while it needed to air or some shit like that. So I get a funell and put that over the pipe cause I dont want this shit running down the pipe as I hold it. I pured about a capfull and the vapors from the pipe became extreemly strong , the wond blew them right to me and I know I got a tiny wiff you can say of that stuff. Ok Now what I dont understand is how this stuff if poured on anything like wood, fabric , flesh will burn. But yet this stuff sits in a plastic jug?? And what exactly is the difference between that and hydrocloric acid? I know the Macuric has hydrocloric in it like 33% but still is it mixed with other acids?

You mentioned Macuric acid or is it Muriatic acid? If it`s Muriatic acid , the most common sold in Hardware stores offered to the Gen. public is 7%-15% Hydrocloric. Just wear gloves and don`t breath it in. It`s not as bad as you think. If it is Mercuric Acid, depending on the manufacturer it should contain nothing more than 94%- 99% water, 0% -2-3% Mercuric Nitrate & 0%- 3% Nitric Acid. If that does`nt work, just go to your local Mom & Pop hardware store & ask for a small bottle of C.L.R.

nj, when you quote people's post, it's best to just delete all the crap around their sig pic. So many people use rotating text and white fonts that odds are it'll just mess up your replies.

This was posted after midnight. I was busy with a writing frenzy and then the usual batch to porn and to bed.

There's Mercuric Acid, but youre not using that.
NJLumber shows his Ali-Like skills with Muriatic Acid, and Ag yep, it's a 30% or so concentrated solution of Hydrochloric Acid [HCl]. The rest is water.

The fumes of this stuff alone is bad times. Almost any acid; it evaporates, it gets in your lungs. Real bad times, and thats a nice strong concentration, so before you do Anything, go to a Home Depot or talk to some expert.

=

Its your stomach acid! And lemme tell ya, ay pure concentrations [not diluted with food and drink] your stomach acid would strip the paint right off a car. so if you dislike someone, dont eat much, then puke on their car. :)

Yeah JPMNick, true that. The Home Depot around here was good, the people had a clue about what they were selling, but then when another four ope up within 15 miles, the 'talent pool' dries up quick.

If nothing else dilute the stuff, and I only say this because if you Do decide to dilute it, you add Acid to Water, not Water to Acid. A to W, like the Root Beer. It's rare but pouring water into concentrated acid can cause a reaction so violent the shit can go all over.

And dont breathe any of that shit in, breathing in acid is bad bad bad times.

Mizzle could not agree with you more about the pouring thing.

I used to work at a town pool and we had to use that acid shit all the time. we had a HUGE 55 gollon drum of it. You had to put on a face mask to use it, and that shit would still burn your nose. We used it to clean parts of the pool and deck.

In relation to how strong it could be, it is not to bad.

As for Home Depot. I remembered when the first opened, a lot of great people worked there. I remember hearing how it is this great place to work, awesome benifits with all these stock options. I go in there now and its basically people who did not get a job at walmart.

And I HATE when i asked where somethign is and they tell me "that is not my department". I am not fucking asking you how to put it together, just point me in the right direction you stupid ass.
