View Full Version : $300 to raise $1200?
As everyone knows, I'm trying to raise money for the avon walk for breast cancer. An idea I had to do so was to have a dodgeball tournament at Cheslea Piers with the "awards ceremony"/after party to be held at Red Rocks West 2 blocks away afterward. The people at Red Rocks commited the place to me, so I just had to book the space for the dodgeball. I just got off the phone with the women from Chelsea Piers, and she told me it would cost me $300 for a 3 hour block. If I get the 16 teams I want, I should earn $1200 for enrty fees, plus what ever other cash I can raise that night at the bar. Do you guys think this makes sense?

Is there any way Chelsea Piers would work with you because it's a charity donation?

Sounds good.
The only if's seem to be if you can actually get 16 teams at the entry fee you want, and then if you can get enough people to come to the bar.
Good luck with it!

It's your life.
How do you like it so far?
The link is on my banner ad that pops up. And would it be wrong to take some of the money raised that day to pay for the court? And they are giving me a break, they knocked a third off.
And the entry team will be $100 dollars a team.
And I think I can get the 16 teams, I just need to work on prizes.

If you say "profits go to charity," it means that anything raised above expenses (including the court) will be donated.
Will Chelsea Piers also give you a cut of concessions?
And if there's anything I can do to help, contact me.
