I watcheds the show tonight and there was a sketch about him being a crack addict on the "Survivor Series...I almost puked a few times watching him...I think a comedian can go over the line trying to get ratings!

I can't wait until Labor day to see his stand up special on Showtime. When does the show start up again?

I caught his show a couple of times and found him to be more annoying then funny. I think the only reason the movie Half-Baked is a cult favorite is the subject matter. Not because of Chappelle(sp?)

I think Dave is a kick ass comic.. maybe his stand up is weak for some but his style of comedy is the kind I like so therefore his show makes me laugh all the time.. He really knows how to impersonate characters really well and add that flava to it.. Rock On Dave :8|:

He's funny as hell. People who imitate him are not.
That is very important to remember.

Dave Chapelle's comedy video "Killing Them Softly" is one of my favorite routines. The show gets a little annoying at times, but his stand-up is hilarious.

Dave got his start here in DC, going to the clubs with his Mama when he was 14. The friends I know who knew him then said he was always hysterical, and they aren't surprised he made it. They are a little jealous, but not surprised.
Other DC alumni from that same crowd include Wanda Sykes, Martin Lawrence and Patton Oswald, although Lawrence was really in a realm unto himself. OH! And that guy on Real World 2 (Los Angeles) that got kicked out was also part of that group.

The least known, but FUNNIEST Chappelle routine is "Trick Whitey Man". If you can find it, I strongly encourage you to pick up this classic.
