This turned into a perfectly good thread topic into a pissing contest real fast. I demand a locking and housecleaning of all non-topic posts in this thread.

1) This isn't a publicity stunt. The Vikings have got to be serious about this. The Vikes aren't hurting for people to buy tickets to their games. It's not like they are a minor league baseball team.

2) He signed for the NFL base salary, which is still a major cut out of his WWE base salary. (Wasn't his WWE base 500K, and NFL base is 230K)

3) This is pretty much a non-story until late August, when final cuts are. If they decide to keep him around, he might be on the practice squad.

Stranger things have happened.

In other news, Chad Pennington will be facing off against Tajiri at SummerSlam.

On ESPN SportsCenter, Saturday night, Brock Lesnar was profiled for a short segment at Vikings training camp. Footage was shown of him getting into a fight with Kansas City Chiefs guard Jonathan Ingram during a scrimmage. A few plays earlier, Lesnar burned by Ingram and laid a hit into Chiefs quarterback Damon Huard, even though the players were told not to be overly aggressive with their hits. Needless to say, both benches cleared during the Lesnar-Ingram fight, and the two players were separated quickly. Additionally, ESPN football analyst John Clayton was saying that Lesnar, who most gave him an outside chance of being signed to the practice squad at the beginning of camp, now is a very solid pick to make the practice squad. Vikings coaches love his work ethic and his refusal to back down from opponents.

Its cool that Lesnar will make the team though, Im happy for him. The guy took a huge pay cut to live out his dream playing for his hometown Vikings and I gotta respect that. Hope he doesnt fail his first steroid test though...

So? He goes to NFL Europe or CFL and develops. I didn't expect him to make the team, maybe the practice squad... but NFL Europe is probably the best thing for him, AND NFL Europe.

I think that the problem with NFL Europe is that Lesnar said that he wanted to be home for his kid. Moving to Europe doesn't exactly accomplish that. The other thing is, he's old for a rookie now. If he takes a couple of years to develop, he'll be in his thirties and over the hill for a D-Lineman in the NFL. I'm sorry folks, I think the dream is over.
