you would think that's the way it will go being the rumored Raw main event at Summerslam is Orton/Benoit and Eugene/HHH also talked about as a match.

i'm more looking forward to see where they will go with the HHH/Orton storyline. you know HHH won't play 2nd fiddle to Orton as part of Evolution. so who is the face and who is the heel? i'm hoping they try and turn HHH to a good guy and the crowd ends up turning on him anyway and cheering the heel Orton.

As I type this, they're having a battle royale on RAW to determine who faces the champ at Summerslam.

I sincerely hope that HHH wins the title tonight.

You can't sell a main event like that to people. Either way someone the fans can't stand will have the belt. I think that the only way to sell a two heel main event is a promised bloodbath. that way it doesn't matter who wins, but Orton and HHH wouldn't giveus what we want in that respect.

They are so dead set on him being the next Rock it's not funny. I will say that young Randall has improved by leaps and bounds. He put on a hell of a performance last night but he just lost the IC title AND the rematch for the IC title and now he gets a title shot less than a month later? Once again the Fed defies logic and expects us to swallow this shit. With Benoit we have a cham who has had something HHH never did: good title matches with EVERYONE. Benoit pulled TWO sweet fucking matches out of Kane. What happens if we get a champion who can't do a tenth as well? What happens if Randy wins the title and Smackdown and Raw suck ass simultaneously? It's been a long time since we had that happen. I for one am glad I have Japanese wrestling to watch in case of emergency.

I disagree in that HHH can play the heel well and get a crowd to react to him as the heel. Between him and especially with Bradshaw, I'm beginning to think the WWE is trying to create villains that not only the fans will dislike, but also the 'smarks'.

Orton did not impress me much in that match. Jericho did, but that's a given. And given the way the WWE has been scripting, it seems so likely that Orton will be the next champion. Orton isn't much without a belt, and the crowd only holds some interest in seeing him possibly lose it, hence the long IC reign. And there are professional, skilled superstars to feed to him while champion, much like they've already been doing.

To those who think Orton WON'T win the title - look, fellows, I wish with every fiber of my being that it won't happen, but at this point, it's almost set in stone that it will. That's how fucking gay they are for this asshole.

Orton did not impress me much in that match. Jericho did, but that's a given.

It's a theme - Orton only has good matches when his opponents are better than him, and can thus make him look good.

The problem I have with this - other than the fact that Orton's still not even close to deserving the title yet - is that there's really no need for Benoit to lose the title yet. He should keep it until at least Survivor Series. THEN, if they want to put it on HHH or *sigh* fucking Orton, they could do so and still have a solid 4 month buildup to set up the rumored HHH v. Orton for the title at Mania.

I said it before Orton/HHH is a main event you can't get people to care about. No one is clamoring to see it and it lacks the dynamic of a two face main event. Not to mention that Orton is still Orton and adequacy is his creed and HHH is still HHH and can't get a good match out of people who aren't at least above average. Fear and tremble at he prospect of your Wrestlemania main even't people.
