The board is just here, as it's always been. People make it what they want it to be.
Contrary to what people say, nobody controls who joins. Anyone can join (As long as they generally stick to the rules that have been posted since the day the board opened). Since it's based out of support for a radio show that's expanded its audience, of course you're going to get a wider influx of different types of people. It's absurd to assume everyone is going to get along. That's life. We ASK that people try and at least be civil.
Don't expect things of "the board" as some kind of vague entity you can shake your fist at. That's such a cop-out. An internet message board is a social gathering place where the environment is based on WHO posts there; the individuals...ALL of them. It's in the people's hands. Nobody is forcing anyone to push the "Send" button when they post what they post. They 100% make the decision about what they're saying to other people. But that's a responsibility that too many people don't want to assume when it's much easier to blame everything and everyone they don't like here on the "higher-ups."
Not that any of this matters. People have already made up their mind about who the "bad guy" is, and how any pseudo-"problems" are everyone else's fault, and elitest declarations about "quality posts/posters," as if there's some absurd gauge that determines who's allowed to post here based on that caliber of their posting. How does THAT kind of thinking fix anything?
Despite the assumptions of some, the mods do not and, quite frankly, cannot "police" every post and poster here because of some ridiculous notion of "agendas" or "vendettas." This board is one tiny part of our daily lives that we do "on the side"...do we really have the time or energy to maintain something THAT vindictive? Of course not. We have lives, jobs, families and friends...why the hell would anyone throw that much spite and focus and emotion into a free internet message board? There's no good reason. Not a single one. If people feel they need to prop up their own self-importance by thinking that somehow the actions of the mods or the "downfall" of the board involves them, hey, nobody can do anything about that. That's their perogative. I'm just saying...practically pleading...try and relax and not get so worked up and bitter and spiteful and angry over an internet message board or the people that post on it. It doesn't do ANYONE here any good. You don't have to get along or like everyone, nobody's asking or expecting that of anyone. If the place is not to your liking anymore., hey, sorry, but nobody has any real "control" of how the show/board's audience shifts. If you feel you need to go, it's a pity, and hopefully you'll come back down the line. The board has changed before, it'll change again, and maybe one of those will be towards something that departed people will enjoy. I don't know if it will or not. Nobody does. Just please sit back for once and dwell on what possible good does only sniping and attacking on an internet message board do not only for the other people here, but especially for yourself. If this environment is so miserable, why are you continually subjecting yourself to it?
Yeah, this is pretty longwinded, like most of what I post, but I just had to vent. Reeshy, none of that really applies to you at all, so I apologize for using your thread as my forum. If people have already made up their minds about me, or anyone else here, or the board itself, well, I said my piece, and that's literally all I can do. I bear no grudges or ill will, nor do I have any reason to do so. You can all take that for what it is. Pick this apart to someone how "prove" the "ugliness and cover ups" that apparently exist here now. I really don't care anymore, because nothing anyone says here is evidently not good enough anymore.
