ESPN NFL2K5

I'm disturbed there is no ESPN NFL 2K5 thread. So here we go.

I picked it up today. LOVE IT!!

I'm a Madden loyalist, but you can't argue with a new football game for less than half the price, with great game play. I can play this for the three weeks I'm waiting for Madden.

IGN gave it a 9.3

And the Jets are actually decent! Thank you Jesus!

It's so advanced, Ricky Williams goes awol in the first quarter!

Yeah this game is good I especially like the first person......good shit....but as far as comparing it to Madden right now we have to wait till August 11th or 12th to do that

I played it in Best Buy, and I have to say the presentation/comentary was excellent. Lots of stats updates, and the annoouncers sounded like they were part of the game, not just recorded voice-overs.


That being said, the gameplay was not that great, by which I mean not better than Madden. The play was tight but just not enough to push it over the top.

Now the graphics seemed cheasy, but I was playing it on a huge High-Def TV, and the PS2 doesnt broadcast in High-Def.

One major problem I have though, and this goes for Madden as well, is that the games come out too early. Rosters arent set, and many rookies still havent been signed by the time Madden comes out. Hell, Training camp usually hasnt even started. These games try to be so realistic, and it really bothers me when rookie recievers are wearing #12 or something.

I'm gonna wait for my Madden Collectors Edition. I'll probably buy NBA and NHL 2K5 since they'll be $20 as well. But for football, it will always be Madden.

If you have the network adaptor you can download updated rosters every month.

This is the last year of Madden. John Madden's contract runs out after this year, and I read somewhere that he won't re-sign. So there will be an EA Sports football game next year, but it won't be called Madden.

i have it i love. for 20 bucks you cant go wrong. and the fact that i get to prepare for every week before a game makes it very interesting. but my ps2 is acting up so although ive played about 10 games so far the damn system won't read the disc anymore. so i have to figure out what to do. this is what i get for purchasing a used ps2.

My friend and I were talking about this game last night and he'll wind up getting the game cause its so cheap but Madden is and always the king of sports games.

how can it be $20??? that's insane. all video games should be $20 bucks. I bet I'd buy more than twice as many...and considering it takes like 50 cents to make the game, the case, and ship it to the store, the company is still making money.

also NFL 2K5 is out ahead of Madden...

the reason why its $20 is cause thats the only way it can compete with madden. if this game was $50 i wouldnt have purchased it. i wouldve just waited for madden, but now i get my football a little earlier and i get to prepare in my head for madden. and speaking of madden please tell me they're finally putting the flea flicker in the game.

I might have to check this game out. I haven't played Madden since Culpepper was on the cover. Too busy with NCAA. But 20 bucks is hard to argue with.

Plus the commercial says it will own your soul. That must be a very good game. :)
