Voyeurism charged to piano instructor

MIDDLETOWN -- A township piano teacher spent years secretly recording dozens of his students using the bathroom of his Ashford Court townhouse, amassing himself a huge library of the illicit voyeur videos, police said yesterday.

Police said George F. Johnson, 67, essentially turned the bathroom into a miniature studio, installing a microphone and three tiny cameras to capture the private moments of the students, their parents or anyone else who used his toilet during the past five years.

Authorities seized a massive cache of nearly 1,500 videotapes from the twice-convicted sex offender's home collection and have identified 44 people that appear on the recordings, said Police Chief John Pollinger. Their ages, he said, range from 6 to 72.

I think the cowbell has more of a "dink" sound rather than a "ding", which would be more suitable to describe an ice cream truck bell.
