This is one of the reasons i quit collecting Trading Cards. I had a long runing hockey collection from 1972 to 1991. Then came every other fucking card under the sun. I could deal with the Score, Score Pinnacle, Upper Deck and Fleer Ultra and kind of put Topps ont he back burner cause they really looked like garbage. Even with those few brands, it was ok. Packs were maybe $1.50 if that and maybe 12 - 15 cards per pack and Upper Deck used to have those cool little holograms.

Fine. I could deal with that even.

Then things started getting real crazy and packs were around $2.50, there were some just insane inserts and there were less cards a pack. I just quit collecting cause it wasn't "fun" anymore. I would love putting together a set of cards and then having the feeling like I accomplished something.

The things they do now are so incredibly crazy. This Gem Mint 10 garbage only seems to have popped up in the last few years. Why do I need a professional to grade my cards. I was raised knowing that Mint was sharp corners fresh out of the pack feeling. Most mint cads right out of the pack I would sheild and store away. The thing about putting jersey swatches intot he jersey is absolutely insane. I mean really. You get a 1 inch block of a jersey in a card. How do you even know its authenticity? Card makers these days are just greedy and insane. topps at least still seems a bit old school cause they are doing these repro's of their old cards with new players. I bought a few packs. I concentrate on collecting the McFarlane's Sports Picks now.
