How long is frozen food good for?

I was about to thaw some chicken legs that I have in the freezer. Then, I noticed the "Sell by" date. Nov. 8, 2003.

How long chicken or meat good for if kept frozen?

i think it depends on how good the packaging is. some food may get frost on it and i think it's due to poor packaging and it can have that 'frozen' taste even after you cook it... not sure how else to describe the 'frozen' taste but it's bad...

it may be alright to eat and won't get you sick but the flavor is tainted...

Chicken can stay in the freezer 6-9 months frozen. those should be fine. especially if they are in a secondary frezer which does not get opened to much.

Only if your freezer doesn't smell like ass. If it does, then your chicken will taste like ass. And maybe a little freezer-burned too.
