So I had a bad burger at Burger King over the 4th of July weekend so I wrote them this letter:

To Whom It May Concern:

I would like to raise to your attention the Burger King restaurant that the attached receipt is from. Over the Fourth of July weekend my comrades and I set off on a 1200 mile adventure along the eastern half of the United States of America. During this journey we decided to stop and refresh ourselves at one of your supposedly fine establishments. Little did we know the pain we would find inside.

Walking through the doors we were in a great mood. Saddam had been arrested, the freedom of the world was still strong, the economy was good, and our stomachs were hungry. We though to ourselves "Our troops are in Iraq fighting to keep us free and to give us the ability to eat at Burger King." We ordered our food and sat down at a table ready to feast on an
evening meal after a long day of driving.

Well, the food we ordered was horrid. The rolls were stale, the meat was old, and the coffee was bland. We did not go to war to fight terrorism so we could be at home eating bad food. It was as if Osama had already won and the pain of the Taliban had been transplanted right into the middle of our God fearing country. We didn't even want to finish our food, the quality was that bad.

I hope this letter will bring to your attention the lack of quality control found within some of your restaurants. I do not want to think each morning
I wake up and turn on the news "Another soldier died so I could eat a bad burger" because to me, that just is not worth dying for.

Keep us a proud nation. Keep our food as grand as this country. Don't let our boys in the Middle East down.

Well, to my delight I got two free Whopper coupons in the mail yesterday. Pretty awesome if you ask me. If it wasn't for the war I wouldn't have had the subject of that letter to write about, so, I guess you can say the war in Iraq has directly effected me by getting me free food.

You know you could have just written that you were dissatisfied with the Whoppers and still gotten the coupons. You didnt have to insult the dignity of the solders who are over the fighting for real freedoms. Even if comeone doesn't agree with the war, it's safe to say this was a dick move.

I wrote it in support of the war!!

I am one of the most angry republicans I know and will vote party lines no matter the election and fight off democrats no matter the situation, even during public protests on college campuses and will be proudly voting for Bush come November.

How is it anything else?

I really don't think this is a republican / democrat issue. The people in Iraq are not fighting so you can use thier hard times to bitch about burger king. The entire tone of your letter seemed childish, belittling and mocking.

Maybe not exactly, but they are fighting so I can have the freedom to sit down and eat some burgers at Burger King instead of being forced to worship Allah and live in a sand hut starving because I am forced to grow my own grains.

Oh yea, that's right! We stopped that looming Iraq invasion.

Its a damn shame our troops are over there. I support them, but they are not only there for the wrong reasons, but they are in the wrong place.

True, I agree with the fact that they are fighting for our freedoms over here, even those as simple as eating fast food. But you didn't write this thread to explain how proud you are to live in this country and how even the little freedoms are worth protecting. You wrote this thread to show how you dupped BK into giving you free whoppers at the expense of people dying. If you're so proud of your letter, forward it to a parent of a soilder who died in Iraq, then let me know how long it takes to receive the thank you.

Actually, it was the worst burger I ever had and the food there was really bad. So it wasn't really duping.

I love the irony that I'm active duty in the military and I'm the only one who doesn't find this appalling. He suckered an evil corporation for free food. Ralph Nader salutes you!

Eh. Not really. If he had just sent a letter saying he had a bad meal, he probably would have gotten the same result.

A more accurate term would "common sense".
