Am I the only one seeing this "Stop Animal Cruelty" link on the side of the web page? I'm not the most observant person, but has that been there for a while? I haven't noticed it before. Did it just appear? Why? Who? And the other 5 W's.

I think we should handle the human cruelty problem before we move on to animals, anyway.

I was checking out that link out earlier and the animal abuse thing does make me quite sick. Animals are so incredibly defenseless and really, to stuff a kitten into a jar really takes a lot of MAN to do that. I would proudly be called faggot, gay, homo, whatever for standing up for the rights of animals. That's just some sick shit man.

Now as far as the comparison to human abuse go, there really is no coorelation at all. If anything the animal abuse leads to human abuse. After eeading and studying serial killers for a few years after high school many of them abuse and maimed animals for sheer joy to practice on humans. Yeah, they are some sick bastards. It is so hard to stop those from doing things in their own home as far as abuse or torture go but when it is blatantly displayed for the world to see, then something has to be done.

Because the way things are set up, it's essentially one enormous Killing Machine. This kills and eats that, from microbes to insects and the animals; it's one big hunt; with the prey and the hunter.

And if you study some of natures creatures the cruelty of the killing can seem downright pathological. But even when it's 100% 'natural'; it's gorgeous, and beautiful and wonderful and Life Rich Pageant and it really is Amazing, and yet it all runs on Death.

Also, to the Meat Eaters. Like Me. A look at some of the methods used in reproducing, raising, housing, feeding of, care of, animals in the Slaughterhouses of the world, well, Cruel is a word that could be used. And thats before we deal with a pneumatic bolt gun to the head and off you go. We raise these animals by the millions solely to kill and eat them, and some would argue, and some would insist, it is very cruel.

So then we are left with the distance between the killing and cruelty at these places versus our nice neat Steak or Chicken Parm, or Big Mac...

The unethical methods using during the slaughtering process do not even compare to wantonly setting animals on fire for the purpose of selfish, sick entertainment. Not even close.

The food service industry is a business...they have to make money to keep people in jobs, moreover they have to feed an entire population of people...when you're processing animals at that speed and in that quantity, ethical slaughtering becomes either too expensive or too time consuming to meet demand. I'm not saying its right, but its certainly not the same as animal torture.

Softball games are a form of animal cruelty. In order to make softball/baseball fields hundreds of trees must be removed. By removing the trees you are destroying the homes of many kinds of animals. Since this website has two softball gettogethers a year that would be about 200 hundreds trees a year. In 20 years that will be like a million trees or something (including seeds). That said, I think there are more humane ways of euthanizing animals for our use. Plus use the whole animal.

The difference is that people are suppose to be "above" animals and as such, we have different responsibilities. Even though nature is cruel in its own way, we are suppose to be above nature. We are the only species to ever exist that kills for the pleasure of it. We make sport of it. These are traits that we should be moving away from if we wish to claim to be intellectually superior to other animals. To kill or hurt for pleasure is offensive to me, and should be to all people who do not wish to be labled as "animalistic". Granted, in nature, where we have removed the predator (the wolf, coyote etc.) and have to assume their roll to control deer population and such, I am all for that, as long as we hunt as a wolf would hunt and take out the sick and weak (this strenghtens the heard). I certianly do not advocate the senseless torture of animals. I think those sites that advocate it or present it as a form of entertianment should be punished as much as possible or removed from the internet. I myself have had to take an animals life on a few occasions and I can tell you that everytime I have had to do it, it has hurt me deeply and I never derived any pleasure from it in the least. I agree with others who have posted here and agree that serial killers and other truly evil people started out by hurting and killing animals for fun. It has got to be stopped!

Everyone IS aware that there is no such thing as a Bonzai Kitten, and that it is a joke site that has been on the internet for 4+ years?

The guy posed his own kittens...in quite the same way people stick their kittens in Christmas stockings for holiday pictures...snapped the picture, then let his kitty out.

The entire site is a joke. It's not real. It's impossible to mold kitten flesh by forcing it to grow inside a container.

i cant stand to think of people being cruel to animals- i cry everytime i see those shows on animal planet about the pet rescues because owners abuse their animals! i adore my dog so much that the thought of anyone hurting another animal or pet enfuriates me.... even though i hate cats i still wouldnt want them abused.....
