When did they fire her?
Actors Jorja Fox and George Eads, who play investigators Sara Sidle and Nick Stokes, were fired after asking for more money to stay on the show, according to the reports.

Danica Smith, publicist for both Fox and Eads, told The Associated Press that Fox was fired Wednesday but did not have details. Smith could not confirm whether Eads was fired.

Eads didn't show up for work Thursday, the first day of production for the next season, according to the news station and Variety, which posted a story on its Web site Thursday. The actors were in the fifth of their seven-year contracts. <b>CNN.com</b>

Kudos to CBS for firing these greedy fools.

You've got a hit show, you are making $100,000 an episode.... plus it is an ensemble cast which isn't likely to get that money (Friends exception).

When "CSI NY" cast members were asked to comment on the actions by Fox and Eads, only Carmine Giovinazzo was game. "I'd be shining Moonves' shoes and caddying for him every weekend if I was making that much money," the actor said.

I HATED the Sara Sidle character. But I understood keeping her around because of the weird storyline where she was in love with Grissom.

But:

...you can't fire Nick Stokes! At least they could say Sara got fed up with her unrequited love for her boss & decided she needed a change, but Nick was getting a bigger & bigger role in the dept. Any corny storyline they come up with for his departure will suck hardcore.

ps: she NEVER looked that good on the show...she always looked akward & nerdy. Granted, that's what her character was supposed to look like, but it's not like they're losing a piece of eye candy.

Wow, CSI is going to suck now. Those two were my favorites. Doesn't really matter though. I'm looking forward to CSI NY. The fact that it is CSI and doesn't have Caruso makes it gold from the start.

The show itself is the star of CSI...not the actors. Anyone could play those roles and the show would/will not be affected.
I'm glad CBS called their bluffs. There are a million young semi-attactive actors that can and will do the job.

It would be interesting if the writers actually killed off the Stokes and Sidle characters and another CSI team (NY or Miami) had to solve the case.

I guess, in the end, this is all good publicity for the show. I just cant believe that two fucking NO NAMES would apply so much pressure to a huge network.
I also can't believe that Eads claims to have "overslept" on the first day of production. That's just silly and he should've been fired for that reason alone. It's a number one show on a major network....you're making $100,000 per week, and you halt production because you cant set your alarm clock??! Come on.
